We are thrilled to host the Nordic Opening with competitions in Cross Country Skiing, Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping. It is our pleasure to welcome as many as 350 athletes from 25 different countries, to take part in eight FIS World Cup Competitions altogether. The highlight of the upcoming season will unquestionably be the World Championships taking place in Seefeld, Austria, in February 2019. We are hoping that Ruka Nordic 2018 will be able to offer the athletes loads and loads of good energy and success here in Ruka as well as in WCS arenas later this season too! The location of Ruka Nordic event being in the border of Lapland, we are celebrating the unique nature and iconic traditional culture of the area, such as reindeer and Santa Claus himself, while enjoying amazing performances in the competing area. With this being said, we are wishing the best of luck and fair play for all competitors during the intensive weekend and hoping that in the middle of competing, everyone would be able to enjoy some Lappish atmosphere and white scenery as well. Welcome, Seppo Linjakumpu Mr. Seppo Linjakumpu General Secretary Ruka Nordic TOIMITSIJAOPAS 3
