Chillicothe Sportsmen s Club Sight Picture October 2016 October 26, 1940 First Fight Of The North American P 51 Mustang October 15, 1944 The First Kamikaze Attack In The Philippines Annual Meeting And Election Of Officers As a corporation we are required by law to hold an annual meeting and election of officers. This will be held at the clubhouse on Tuesday November 8 at 6:30. Hey, this is election day so get out and vote. A Message From Our President Greetings from your Club President. There are some changes going to happen around your club this fall so I wanted to let you all know about them. The first change is on range #7 (300 yard range). Starting around November 1 it will be closed quite often until the dirt work on the east (river) side of the range along with the back stop is completed. We are raising the berm on the east and back end of the range so we can add more ranges behind this range. This is a very important step getting more places for you all to shoot so please be patient when it is closed. If you need to use the 300 yard range I suggest you get out there

before the work starts. We have the plans to add another 100 yard rifle range along with a few more pistol bays with land we cleared last year. This is a very exciting step for the club. We already have one of the best shooting clubs in central IL and this is one more step to making it even better. The second change will not affect you until renewal time at the end of 2017. We are raising the hourly rate for unworked work hours in 2017 from $10 to $15. This is the first time this rate has been raised since the 1980's. Our club is an all volunteer organization so work hours are very important to keeping the club looking good and help out on the numerous activities we put on. Again this will not take effect until your renewal for 2018 in late 2017 or early 2018. The third proposed change has to be voted on at the November board meeting which is also the annual elections. Save the date for this meeting on November 8th at 6:30. We will ask all the life members to vote on a proposed change to raise the land fund fee from $10 to $25 as required in our by laws. The board feels that the gravel pit to the south and west of the archery range will come up for sale sooner than later and as of right now we do not have the 20% down payment required to get a mortgage on this property. This property would be an important buffer zone for our club and would be the last bit of property we need to ensure the club is around for many years to come. Property values are not going down and this fee has not changed since the 1980's. The proposed change would not take effect until the 2018 renewal year at the end of 2017 or early 2018. See you all at the November meeting. Chris Bach Outdoor Work Party: The next work party will be October 1st starting at 8:00AM. We will be cutting down a bunch of trees getting ready for the new ranges. Bring trailers, chainsaws, brush cutting tools, rakes, shovels, etc. If you want any firewood you can have it; you must provide truck or trailer to haul it home. On Saturday, October 1st; ALL RANGES ARE CLOSED TO SHOOTING UNTIL AFTER THE WORK PARTY IS COMPLETE (about 12:00) except for schedule events. Contact Steve Schneckenburger at 309-657-0170 for more information.
