Kinicinic Pheasants Forever will be making a donation to the club. 11. Need better security with the front gate. 12. Conceal carry classes. Steve Guggemos is requesting using the pistol range for qualifying for conceal carry classes on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. If you do not have a partner, we will find you one. If you have questions call Bob Snegosky or Dave Orf In Memory of Steven C. "Jupe" Houman Steven Carl Jupe Houman, age 79, of Hudson, passed away at his home on Wednesday afternoon, June 1, He was born the son of Stephen and Laura Houman on April 30, 1932 in Hudson. Jupe graduated from Hudson High School, where he had been a member of the boxing team. From , he served in the US Navy as a Sea Bee, doing construction and engineering. On October 28, 1952, Jupe was united in marriage to Helen Ann Johnson in Hudson. They were blessed with seven children. Jupe was a life member and active volunteer of the Hudson Rod, Gun, and Archery Club. He participated in shooting trap, skeet, and BB, and he assisted with the youth day programs. Jupe was passionate about woodcarving, and was an avid collector of duck decoys. He enjoyed hunting (esp. raccoon and deer), fishing, and trapping. He loved to garden, and liked to find a good garage sale. Jupe was a friend to all. His honesty, generosity, and kindness will be greatly missed. Jupe was always ready to carve a duck decoy for a club function or fundraiser for the club. Many members passionately bid or filled out raffle tickets to be rewarded one of his decoys. Each class provides ALL of the training needed for permits from Minnesota, Utah, Florida for a $ training fee and you re all done in one day. You may register (and pay if you like) online at: or call Bob at any evening or at bobamey@aol.com for registration materials. With the passage of the Wisconsin Concealed Carry bill, Wisconsin residents should give some thought to getting a Utah permit for all of the reciprocity agreements that Utah has in place. It is likely to take Wisconsin some time to work out the reciprocity issues. You can take the 4 hour Utah class now and have 33 state coverage to compliment the Wisconsin permit. The stand alone Utah class is $75.00 and you can register at my site above. I will add some Utah only classes as demand dictates. Indianhead Trap Shoots The clubs hosting shoots during the 2011 season are: Amery- July 10th Brill- July 24th Grantsburg August 14th The shooting times are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM unless otherwise noted by the individual clubs. Shooting fees are $ 8.00 for adults and $ 3.00 for juniors for 50 Birds. For a club to remain active in the league, a minimum of 7 shooters is needed at each shoot, this has been a problem in the past hopefully we can have more interest this year.

7 Calendar Raffle: Your club is once again running the traditional calendar raffle. The calendars are at the club now. To make this a success we need each member to buy and sell calendars. The club depends on this raffle as one of the key fundraisers each year. The proceeds from this raffle goes to improving facilities at your club and It requires the participation of the membership. Stop by and get yours as soon as you can. The drawings start in September but the sooner we start selling the better. If you sell 5 calendars or more your name goes in for a drawing for a handgun. Wisconsin Conceal Carry Thanks to all who contacted their legislators regarding SB-93. Below is an update of that important legislation. Both chambers of the Wisconsin state legislature have voted to approve one of the nation's strongest Right-to-Carry bills, by solid bipartisan margins. Senate Bill-93, (which was strongly backed by the National Rifle Association), now goes to Governor Scott Walker for his expected signature. When signed, it will leave Illinois as the only state that provides no way for citizens to carry concealed firearms for self-protection outside their homes or place of business. Wisconsin will require a license to carry concealed and to receive that license there is specific firearms training requirement. To view the context of the SB-93 Amendment Memo see Turkey shoot If you didn't take part in this shoot you missed a very fun shoot. There was 24 shooters participating some from 4 other clubs. Some of the games were Annie Oakly, Trap-Skeet combo. Thanks to everyone who helped make this shoot a succes. Thank You RiverBank The RiverBank is proud to present a check for $ to Hudson Rod, Gun &Archery Youth Day. This check represents the proceeds from our RiverBucks program. Each month a different Hudson youth organization is chosen to receive RiverBucks fares. Stop in and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and help us support community youth! Today is the oldest you've ever been, yet the youngest you'll ever be, so enjoy the day while it Lasts.
