Best Buddies Best Buddies will be meeting on Monday, 10/9/17 at 2:30 in room 1723 to mingle with buddies and make plans for Carnival.

Mu Alpha Theta There will be a Mu Alpha Theta meeting on Monday, October 9th at 2:40 in the cafeteria! The makeup meeting will be the next morning at 6:50 in room 2434.

HOSA HOSA members we will have a mandatory competition meeting on, Friday 10/13 @ 2:30, in the cafeteria. You must attend this meeting if you are planning to compete.

Student Council Hey Chargers!!! Student Council will have our 2nd after school meeting of the year this Monday, October 9th in Room 2424. Bring your signed application and $10 dues to the meeting to join the cause. Can t wait to see you. Also, check @ChargerStuco, our Student Council twitter for the Homecoming Week Spirit Dress Up Days and stay tuned for Lunch announcements. HOBY Attention Sophomore Student, Two sophomore students will be selected to represent Clear Springs High School at this summer s Hugh O Brian Youth Leadership Seminar. HOBY Leadership Seminar purpose is to bring together a select group of high school sophomores who have potential or demonstrated leadership ability. If you are interested in applying, please stop by Ms. Lopez-Bauer s office #1107 to pick up an application, or speak to your counselor. The application, resume and essay are due on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Lopez-Bauer.

Springboard Springboard will start on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Springboard is an after tutorial, tutorial in which students get help with homework and can ride a bus home! For questions or permission slips come see Mrs. B in room #2635.

Missing Laptop Students, if you have lost your laptop please let the Laptop Tech in the library know as soon as possible. Also, teachers if a laptop has been left behind in your classroom please return it to the Laptop Tech as soon as possible.

Colleges on Campus Juniors and Seniors: The following colleges will be on campus in the College and Career Center on the following days. If you are interested in attending, please go to Naviance and sign up, print out your ticket, and show your teacher for permission to leave class. PSAT Chargers, this Wednesday is PSAT testing day! All sophomores will take the official PSAT, as well as any freshmen and juniors who paid to take it. Freshmen who did not pay will take a practice PSAT, and juniors who did not pay will take a practice ACT. All 9th, 10th, & 11th graders should bring a calculator to school. A graphing calculator would be best (but make sure it is a College Board-approved graphing calculator, if you're taking the official PSAT). Otherwise, a scientific calculator or 4-function calculator will be sufficient. You may not use the calculator on a phone, tablet, or watch. You may also bring a quiet snack and a bottle of water. All seniors will take the ASVAB Career Exploration Program test in the cafeteria. All students should arrive at school by 7:20am. Dual Credit, CTE Travel, and 1st period Release Time students all need to come to school for 7:20am and report to your testing location.

Teen Read Week It s Teen Read Week! Teen Read Week an initiative created by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA). It began in 1998 and is held annually in October the same week as Columbus Day. Its purpose is to encourage teens to be regular readers and library users. Come check out a book and get entered in our drawing for one of two great gift cards to Whataburger and AMC.

Boys Basketball Tryouts Boys basketball tryouts for all levels that are not in football are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 26th. The tryouts are going to be from 5:30-6:30 and will be in the big gym. If you are planning to tryout you need to bring a copy of your last report card and have a physical on file with the trainer by Oct. 24th. You will not be allowed to tryout without completing both of these tasks.

Girls Basketball Tryouts The girls basketball team will have tryouts on Friday, October 20th. Freshman tryouts will be from 6:00 AM- 7:00AM.If you are a freshman trying out please come by Coach Morrison s room 1124. JV/Varsity try outs will be after school from 2:45-3:45. If you are trying out for JV/Varsity please go by Coach Crawford s office by the gym. ALL girls trying out MUST have a physical on file with the trainers, by October 18th to be able to try out.
