WENTWORTH PARK Tommy Brislane s Group 2 Bob Payne Spring Sprint victory on Saturday night (September 27) at Wentworth Park, strengthened the two year olds Topgun claims, winning in 29.70. Jumping smartly from box six, the Steve White prepared runner outpaced his opposition, clocking 5.36 to the first mark, before racing off with the $40,000 to the winner series, leaving his rivals to battle out the placings. That was left to Rue De Kahn and Ritza Hattie which chased gallantly, finishing 4 ½ lengths behind Tommy Brislane. Trainer Steve White thanked his family for their on going support and assistance in preparing the greyhounds along with Owner Geoff Slattery. Geoff and I have had some good dogs, but he(tommy Brislane) is something special, White said. After winning the Group 1 Dapto Megastar at the start of September, White is hopeful the two year old has now done enough to ensure a Group 1 Topgun start in October at The Meadows. Wentworth Park will head in to its fifth straight week of Group action, with heats of the Group 3 Bohemia Crystal Sydney Cup (720m) on Saturday, October 4. Next of the Macro Meats Maiden Series will be held on Sunday, November 23 with Final Saturday, November 29. Participants are advised, field trials are no longer available at Tuesday night trial sessions. Trainer looking to get field experience for their runners are encouraged to liaise with other trainers and pay the single $11 trial fee. Wentworth Park s Christmas meeting is Saturday, December 13, 2014. Mark it in your calendar now!

GENERAL INFO 2013 Stud Book - Now on Sale Greyhound breeding and racing enthusiasts can now order Vol 61 of the Greyhound Stud Book. This publication is required reading for students seeking to become more widely knowledgeable about the greyhound racing industry. Question : Vol 61 lists the number of litters whelped in the year ending June 30 th 2013 name the top five sires in the number of litters whelped? To help your judgement, the top ten sires in alphabetical order are : Bekim Bale, Collision, Cosmic Rumble, Dyna Lachlan, Dyna Tron,El Grand Senor, Fabregas, Lochinvar Marlow, Magic Sprite, Spring Gun. Despite the doomsayers negativity, in truth, Australian greyhound breeding activity is quite healthy. The 2013 Stud Book recorded 2,985 litters whelped, and 13,010 greyhounds named. These figures are quite satisfactory, given the five year average for litters is 2,944, and the five year average for named greyhounds is 12,708. Some prominent greyhounds making their first appearance as sires in the 2013 Stud Book include : Barcia Bale (42 litters), Blue Lorian (7), Don t Knocka Him (8), Oaks Road (53), Radley Bale (20). Answer : Cosmic Rumble topped the list of sires with litters whelped with 191 litters, which produced 1,267 pups, followed by Bekim Bale (138 litters), Collision (129), Magic Sprite (4), Spring Gun (112). The top five are followed by : Fabregas (101), Dyna Lachlan (91), El Grand Senor (90), Lochinvar Marlow (76), Dyna Tron (71). Greyhound racing devotees can contact Greyhounds Australasia phone (03) 9548 3500, or email admin@galtd.org.au to order the 2013 Stud Book, or for enquiries.

BULLI Another high quality race meeting at Bulli last Wednesday night. Chipping Norton trainer Geoff Greville has a good recent record at Bulli & he aced the nights feature with Montrose Maid. Geoff has been in the winner s circle at Bulli on a regular basis in recent times. Three nice heats of the Blue Paws series were decided over the 472m with heat winners Boss Electro for Majella Ferguson, The inform and unbeaten Winsome Prince for Melinda Finn & What Will Do returned to winning form for Vincent Spiteri. This Final will be extremely well followed on Wednesday night. Other results included Two eye-catching performances in both the maiden races with Dark Magnum a 22.38 400m winner for Appin mentor Mary Wright & the very well supported To A Tee in 26.30 in the 472m for Harry Sarkis. Both these maiden winners will be well worth following in the future. Other winners included Shine For Me in the last stride for Julie Brodie, Xtreme Knocka in a powerful 515m victory for Jason Fletcher, Paperbond for Kristy Sultana ended a run of placing s adding another win to a consistent Bulli record. Margaret Keys had to wait until the final race with the aptly named Win Some Cash doing exactly that. Special congratulations to Nowra Trainer & Bulli track supporter Steve White after the win of Tommy Brislane in the Group 2 Bob Payne Spring Sprint at Wentworth Park on Saturday night. It has been a swift & meteoric Rise for Tommy who made his debut on a race track in a PT trial at Bulli in February when he was beaten by Kennel Mate Paua To Roar. Since then Tommy Brislane has starred. Bulli will conduct 5 Race meetings in October with Nominations for the Bulli Race meeting on October 8 th to close this Friday at 9am with heats drawn for 1-4 Win 5 th Grade Greyhounds over the 400m. To keep up to date with Bulli upcoming events go to our website www.greyhoundsbulli.com Events are listed until the end of October. Good luck in the racing week ahead. Hully. Road diversions are still in place around the Bulli track while road works to a new estate take place. Those concerned can call the Club for further information or directions.

GOSFORD Gosford s meeting on Tuesday, September 30 was filled with excitement as those trackside raised funds for Breast Cancer awareness. The meeting, run by Central Coast trainer Raelee Shearer featured the running of a 5 th grade 515m bitches only, taken out by Luke Azzopardi s Wuxi in 29.69. It was however, Beau Hedley s Avondale Al, which stole the show of the night. Lining up in race 10 on September 30, Hedley s Avondale Al had wowed race goers the week prior in his maiden run clocking 29.31 on debut. In last night s event (September 30), Avondale Al jumped smartly to lead throughout, stopping the clock at 29.14, winning by over 12 lengths. Shaving 0.16 off Lochinvar Curl s 2012 record, Hedley and connections were overwhelmed with the victory. I knew the dog was able to break the record, but that time was a bit of a surprise, Hedley said. While the record is fantastic, the dog now needs to go on with it, and keep stepping up in class. Hedley is now expect to start preparing Avondale Al for the forthcoming Group 1 Vic Peters series at Wentworth Park, commencing October 18. Photo courtesy of Steve Whalland Participants please note, Gosford will not be trialling Wednesday, October 6 and Friday, October 10 due to track works.
