NATALYA S TURNING POINTE SCHOOL OF DANCE About Us: Natalya s Turning Pointe School of Dance, home of Ballet Le Rêve, is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATER National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9- level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancers health and child development. The ABT National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Pre-Primary through Level 5 will be taught by ABT certified teacher, Natalya Vyashenko, who had successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 5 of ABT National Training Curriculum. 2014-2015 Calendar: Semester I: Thanksgiving Break: Holiday Break: Semester II: Spring Break: Spring Show: Memorial Day: September 2nd, 2014 - January 18th, 2015 (18 weeks/classes) Thursday, November 27th- Saturday, November 29th Monday, December 22nd - Monday, January 4th January 19th - May 30th, 2015 (18 weeks/classes) Monday, March 30th - Monday, April 5th TBA Monday, May 25th - NO CLASSES **Note: studio will be open on Martin Luther King Day (Monday, January 19th) and Presidents Day (Monday, February 16th). **Studio is open all other days not listed on this calendar. If the studio decides to close due to weather conditions, you will be notified via email.
Tuition: Payment is due the first of each month. A $15 late fee will be added to any payment received after the 5th of the month. No exceptions. Classes are not pro-rated. Payments: Drop in / Open rate per class 1-hour - $15 1.5 hour - $20 2 hours - $25 Early Payment Family Discount 5% discount given if semester tuition is paid in full before the first day of semester classes. 10% off additional family members tuition total when two or more family members are enrolled. Discount applied to lesser amount. Fees Late payment fee: $15 Returned check fee: $30 Checks Payable Natalya s Turning Pointe School of Dance Registration fee Refund policy Withdrawal: Drop out The Turning Pointe School of Dance asks for a $25 registration fee ($35 for family). This is an annual fee paid at the beginning of the school year. All part-time students who are not enrolled at Turning Pointe are welcome to pay an open-rate for all classes. Open-rates listed above. To receive the discounted rate, students need to be enrolled in the dance program. This requires registration. The school year is 9 months; two semesters of 4 1/2 months; 18 weeks of classes. Payment options are available. Refunds are granted in special circumstances including medical, relocation, or death in the family. New students whom tuition was paid in full have one month to request a refund minus the classes taken pro-rated at drop-in rate. Upon enrollment, students are expected to pay all payments unless submitting a written withdrawal notice at least one month before the following tuition due date. Once withdrawn, a new registration fee must be paid if space is still available in the class, unless excused for medical reasons. If a student misses one month of classes (4 sessions per class), and fails to notify the dance school with a legitimate excuse and payment is not submitted, the student will be considered a drop-out. To enroll in class again, the student will have to re-register and pay the $25 registration fee.
Code of Conduct: In order to maintain an environment of professionalism that is conducive to optimum learning, Turning Pointe School of Dance requires dancers and parent/guardians to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with values of Turning Pointe School of Dance. Parent/Guardian Expectations: 1. No use of inappropriate and/or offensive language, including but not limited to, swearing, yelling, or use of any negative comments regarding religion, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation at the Turning Pointe School of Dance studio or any Turning Pointe School of Dance event. 2. No parent/guardian is permitted on stage or around stage area at any performance and/ or rehearsal unless specifically requested by a Turning Pointe School of Dance staff member. 3. No parent/guardian is permitted to interact with dancers during class. 4. No adult male is permitted in the female dressing room. No adult female is permitted in the male dressing room. Student Expectations: 1. No use of inappropriate and/or offensive language, including but not limited to, swearing, yelling or use of any negative comments regarding religion, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation at the Turning Pointe School of Dance studio or any Turning Pointe School of Dance event. 2. All students must be respectful to Turning Pointe School of Dance staff and fellow dancers. 3. All students must behave in a professional and courteous manner in class and at all Turning Pointe School of Dance events. 4. Turning Pointe reserves the rights to refuse its service without explanation including but not limited to the students and family members who exhibit negative and/or inappropriate behavior regarding the training, staff or other students of Turning Pointe.
Studio Policies and Procedures: Statement Against Discrimination and Sexual Harassment: Turning Pointe School of Dance shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability or national origin. Turning Pointe School of Dance will not tolerate any unlawful harassment of any staff, student or parent/guardian affiliated with Turning Pointe School of Dance and will investigate all harassment complaints thoroughly and promptly. Class Placement: Students will be placed in an appropriate level according to the instructor s recommendation. Please respect the instructor s expertise in this matter. Turning Pointe School of Dance reserves the right to move students to the most appropriate level based on their technique and skill level. Movement is at the instructor s and/or studio director s discretion. Withdrawal: Once enrolled students are expected to pay all nine payments unless submitting a written withdraw notice at least one month before the next tuition due date. Once withdrawn, a new registration fee must be paid if space is still available in the class, unless the absence was excused for medical reason. Facility: No food or drink is permitted on the dance floor. Students are permitted to bring a water bottle on the dance floor. Students should keep all dance bags, shoes and coats in cubbies outside of the dance floor. Parent/guardian Viewing: Parents of students ages 8 and under are invited to observe class in the waiting rooms. Student Etiquette: Dancers must exhibit a positive attitude and be prepared to learn. Dancers must be courteous toward instructors and other dancers. Dancers are encouraged to use the restroom before class. Absence: If a dancer is going to be absent from class, it is necessary to call the studio and leave a message. Attendance: Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes. Students are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early to stretch, warm-up, and mentally prepare. Student Drop-Off and Pick-up: Students are not permitted to sit on the sidewalk outside of the studio and wait for their ride. For your child s safety, we ask all students to stay inside the studio until a parent/guardian arrives.
Spring Performance: Spring Performance is held in May each year. Participation is optional. There is an additional recital fee to participate in the Spring Performance. The forms with detailed information regarding Spring Performance including fees, specific date, time and place are released at/around November. All forms need to be turned in within a month, signed and indicating whether you are interested in participating in the Spring Performance or not. Solo/duet/trio performing opportunities are available to advanced dancers based on the skill of a dancer at the discretion of the artistic staff. Students that are ready will be invited by studio director. Additional charges and regulations will apply. American Ballet Theater Examinations: All ABT Certified Teachers are eligible to present their students for examination at the end of the academic school year. Students can pass successfully on 4 levels: pass, pass with merit, pass with honors, pass with high honors. This process will be reevaluated / revised on an ongoing basis. Students must wear the International Dance Supply ABT Academy Uniform at the exam. Additional fees apply in order to take the ABT examination. At Natalya s Turning Pointe School of Dance, parents have the right to opt out of the ABT examinations. Natalya s Turning Pointe School of Dance cannot guarantee successful ABT examination passing to every student. Natalya s Turning Pointe School of Dance reserves the right to make recommendations to its students in regards to taking ABT examinations. Creative Rights: All choreography, movement and content used in studio and for performances are the creative work and intellectual property of the instructor and/or Turning Pointe School of Dance. Use of choreography, movement and/or content without written consent by the instructor and/or studio director is prohibited.
