Schofield pleaded gulty to a charge under AR160B(3) in that he had in his possession and was using his mobile phone in the jockeys room approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to the first race. C. Schofield further pleaded guilty to a charge under AR175(gg) in that shortly after arriving on course he signed the Riders Arrival And Departure Register stating that his phone was in the car, when in fact it was in his possession in the jockeys room. Exercising their powers under LR6(c)2A Stewards were able to determine penalty in regard to Rule 175(gg), which as a serious offence would normally be heard by the RAB Board. Due to the lack of pace in the event, Wall Street which began well today, was permitted to stride forward by its rider and take up a forward position. Approaching the 1200 metres Le Remas had to be steadied off the heels of Dany The Fox, which had shifted in to avoid the heels of Wall Street. Passing the 1200 metres The Wingman became unbalanced when tightened for room by Future Solution, which shifted in before being straightened by its rider. Saalbari raced wide and without cover throughout. Rounding the home turn The Wingman and Dany The Fox were held up when unable to obtain clear running. Approaching the 200 metres Future Solution (D. For this reason S. Arnold rider of Crystal Reef had to stop riding and straighten his mount approaching the winning post. C. Symons rider of Velonski 1 placegetter was questioned regarding the tactics adopted today. C Symons reported that it was not his intention today to lead, however after beginning well and with no early speed in the race he allowed the gelding to stride and take up the lead position. Shortly after this Darwin got its head up when placed in restricted room between Savitar and To Be Honest. Haiti raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. From passing the 400 metres until passing the 200 metres Princess Rock and Gotta Dream were held up for clear running. Darwin (B. Melham)was held up for some distance rounding the home turn and after passing the 200 metres had to be checked when attempting a run where there was insufficient room between Chilean Plume and Very Suave (N. Souquet) which after initially shifting out then shifted back in. After taking into account all the circumstances B. Melham was reprimanded and notified that he must ensure he has sufficient room when attempting runs at all times and N. Souquet was reminded of his obligations to keep his mounts straight in future. During this incident Chilean Plume was also hampered. Near the 100 metres Very Suave when being straightened by its rider, shifted out and bumped Crystal Icon, unbalancing that gelding. Shinn rider of Savitar, which was laying in under pressure.

M. Rodd rider of Chilean Plume which performed below market expectations stated his instructions were to ride the gelding along but in his opinion it was not suited by the step up in distance today.
