From the President, To all our member. Pardon our dust, as you may have noticed we are working on improving the look of the club. More to come, so any help is always welcome. We are planning a open house, so watch your email. This years shoot championship will be in September as a three day event. Again check the calendar in the club house, or check the club webpage. Hope to see you all soon. Members Reminders: 1. Don't forget to keep your email up to date with the club Safety Review 2013 FSC Board Executive Board: President...Thurlow Haskell V. President...Jeff Hobson Treasurer...Ken Nicholson Secretary...Brian Sura Exec. Sec...Jim Staneart Mark Jossart Ted Puch Mike Gaynor Rich Layman (new) Annual Club Championships Individual Championships best of 50 targets in: 16yd Singles 24yd Handicap Doubles 17yd Wobble Skeet 5-Stand Overall Club Championship, best of 100 targets 1 round each in 16yd sngles, 24yd hdcp, Skeet, and 5 Stand Red 2. Please review your FOID card for the validity date. Thurlow Board of Directors: Sean Cryan Mike Turner Lou Englesman Jim Coffey Overall Championships, best of 100 targets in Trap (16yd sngles, 24yd hdcp & doubles) Sporting (2 rnds Skeet & 2 rnds 5 Stand Red) 1. When using snap caps, MAKE SURE you do have a snap cap and not a live shell. 2. You should be outside when placing snap caps in you gun while pointing your gun downrange before pulling the trigger. 3. NO GUN, should be shouldered while in the club house. If you want to get the feel of a gun, you are to step outside to a trap station that is not being used, point it down range and shoulder it there. 4. All guns are to have their action OPEN while walking around and your finger off the trigger, NO MATTER where you are at the club until you are ready to fire it. 5. As ALWAYS, treat every closed gun as if it were loaded. Archery to begin To broaden services, the FSC board has elected to open archery to the membership. Starting on Sunday, August 11, there will be a 1

practice area between trap 1 and the pattern board with club supplied cube targets. Please, NO CROSSBOWS. We'll be looking for your feedback to the archery area as to what can keep it going. Hourly fee's will be implemented starting September 15th, just to offset the cost of target replacements. Additional information, including safety rules, will be sent soon by a separate emailing. Clubhouse Improvements If you have been by in a while, then you haven't seen the improvement of the northside interior. Even with more work needing to be done the new paneling and drywall has started making the area quite awesome looking. Don Guinta along with Rich Layman, Lou Englesman have work long and hard to make this area of the clubhouse appealing. Bennie Nelson has agreed to do the taping of the drywall and Mike Gaynor is organizing a painting party. If you'd like to help contact either Bennie or Mike and let them know. Once it's all through, make sure to give them all a nice job guys, when you see them. Sportsman Profile In an effort to introduce members to other members, I will be adding this portion of the newsletter to let members know who's who in the membership. If you'd like to be part of a future profile, please let me know. The questions will be the same and a photo of the profilie will be included. I will start with myself. experience that you have had? I think it was firing that 10ga. Being only about 90 lbs., I think it drove me into the ground about 3 or 4 inches. What discipline of clay shooting is your favorite? That's a hard one. Trap is fun, but quite intense, skeet is a good diversion, 5-Stand is fun, but I haven't shot it much, I need to do more of this. Sporting Clay is great because of the social aspect. But I really like them all. Name: Mike Turner When did you start shooting in general? My dad started me when I was 12yr old (1962), with a double barrel 10ga./ cannon from his dad. I believe it was a Colt 1878, but I can't remember that far back. When did you start shooting clay targets? I started shooting when I was 17yrs old, but gave it up for nearly 42 years. I got married and had a family. What kind of gun do you typically shoot? Since I've had the ability to buy my own shotgun, I chosen Browning. Shooting Items for Sale MEC Versa Mec with universal charge bar $60.00 OBO. How long have you been a member of FSC? Since February of 2010, as a shooting member. Then soon after, upgraded to a Sportsman member. What do you like about shooting at FSC? The friendliness of the members. The want and helping new shooters. And the growth of a new shooter to the sport. What was the most memorable shooting 5
