CAR GUY NEWS VOLUME 8 - ISSUE 6 JUNE, 2016 President: Joe O'Fria Vice President: Joe Priscoglio TOP DEAD CENTER MOTOR CLUB Secretary: Carolyn Hibbs P.O. BOX 173 Treasurer: Joseph O'Fria LIONVILLE, PA 19353 Editor: Carolyn Hibbs Webmaster: Danielle O'Fria Membership Recruiters: Trish Lenkowski, George Corbett Hello Everyone, Presidents Message Show season is well under way and there have been many great cruises and shows already. Cruise for the Troops so far has been a great success. With many more shows and cruises to come we have a lot to look forward to. What draws car owners to a specific cruise or show? What attracts you to an event? I have said many times it is the venue. Yes, the venue. But it is as much the venue as it is the hard work the hosting club and its members do before and during the show. Yes our cruise nights so far have been a great success. It is both, one without the other will not work. A special thanks to all who have worked hard for our events. I look forward to a continued show season. But most of all I look forward to seeing and trading stories with all our members. Hope to see you soon. See you Crusin', Joe O'Fria **************************************************** GENERAL MEETING - SPECIAL LOCATION The July 5th General Meeting will be held promptly at 7pm at Chester County Food Bank, 650 Pennsylvania Dr, Exton, PA 19341 **************************************************** Page 1

Annual Car-B-Que Sunday - July 3rd - 3pm @ O'Fria Residence ***RSVP by June 30th*** Contact Gerry @ 610-389-0919 or tdcmotorclub@gmail.com. The O'Fria's are once again opening up their house and inviting members and their families for an Independence Day picnic on July 3rd beginning at 3pm. The Club is responsible for Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Rolls, Soda and Water. It is asked that everyone bring an appetizer, covered dish, dessert, etc. Please let Gerry know what you plan on bringing so there are no duplicates or to get a suggestion on something to bring. ***Donations for Drive Out Hunger*** Drive Out Hunger is approximately 31 days away and we are in need of donations. Please ask any of your favorite hangouts if they would be willing to donate to the Drive Out Hunger Show. An email was sent with the donation letter that you can give to the establishment with all the details of the show and it will provide them with what they need for their tax purposes. If you have collected any donations, please send an email with the information so that we can update the list. This way no two members are asking the same people. You can bring the donations to the July meeting or contact any of the officer's to arrange for pick-up. Page 2

2016 Club Picnic and Road Rally Even though it was a windy day, the 2016 Club Picnic and Road Rally was a great success. With a field of 11 cars participating in the Road Rally, Joseph and Jason O'Fria narrowly nudged out Cadillac Joe and Crew to become the 2016 Road Rally winners. Harold didn't end up in Pottstown this year, but still managed to make his own route with the longest time! Once again Rick was our master chef behind the grill and the club members provided the great side dishes and desserts. Probably safe to say that no one left hungry that day! Page 5

Leon came to the rescue with tarps that he had in his car which helped shield everyone from the wind. Thank you all who participated in making this a great picnic. Can't wait for next year's picnic New Meeting Place - Harley Davidson of Chester Springs The first General Meeting was held at our new location, Harley Davidson of Chester Springs, on Tuesday June 7th, 2016. Page 6

Joe and Donna White, (owners), welcomed the approximately 35 members and associates that were in attendance. They set us up in the middle of their wide open sales floor, and informed us that the conference room would be ready by our next meeting. Cadillac Joe thanked them for allowing us to hold our meeting there. After the meeting, club members were encouraged to check out the new layout while enjoying snacks provided by Trish and Leon. Page 7

Cadillac Joe was asked how the picnic was. He mentioned that there was a great turnout, even with the wind. The Road Rally was one of the best attended in the past few years. Ernie, Pete and Curt were thanked for putting it together. Jason and Joseph were the winners of the Rally and even though Harold didn't end up in Pottstown, he still managed to get side-tracked along the way. Leon was thanked for having traps in his car that helped sheild a good bit of the wind.
