Page 4 8. AD HOC COMMITTEE REPORTS 8.1 Bracebridge Public Library Board (Councillor, C. Wilson) An information session was held on November 21, 2016, which covered a variety of topics including the expansion or relocation of the Library. It was emphasized during the meeting that the Town is only in the information gathering phase regarding potential options and a final decision has not been made by Council. 8.2 Bracebridge BIA Board of Management (Councillor, C. Wilson) The BIA Board of Management Annual General Meeting was held yesterday. An update was provided regarding the accomplishments and challenges of 2016, as well as the plans for 2017. The 2017 draft budget was approved by the members, subject to Council approval. Residents and visitors to Bracebridge are encouraged to shop downtown Bracebridge as the holiday season approaches. 8.3 Muskoka Lifestyle Centre (Councillor, L. Giaschi-Pacini) The What s Cooking event summary staff report has been circulated to the BIA and Chamber of Commerce as a reference document as a tool for the Boards to use to help determine the feasibility of a 2017 event. Staff in the Planning and Development Department are preparing a report regarding the future of MLC activities. 8.4 Local Northern Ontario School of Medicine Group (Councillor, L. Giaschi-Pacini) 8.5 Bracebridge Chamber of Commerce () A memorandum from the Chamber of Commerce was included on the November 30, 2016 Council Correspondence. 8.6 Muskoka Heritage Trust Nature Reserves (Councillor, M. Quemby) 8.7 Bracebridge Arts Council Board (Deputy Mayor, R. Maloney) 8.8 Association of Municipalities of Ontario Board/Ontario Small Urban Municipalities (Mayor, G. Clement reported on the Community Services meeting No. CS-10-2016 of November 23, 2016. 11.2. Engineering and Public Works () Councillor D. Smith reported on the Engineering and Public Works Committee meetings No. PW-11-2016 and PW-12-2016 of November 23, 2016. 11.3. Planning and Economic Development (Councillor, L. Giaschi-Pacini) Councillor L. Giaschi-Pacini reported on the Planning and Economic Development meeting No. PED-16-2016 of November 24, 2016. 11.4. Corporate and Emergency Services (Mayor, G. Smith) Mayor G. Smith reported on the Corporate and Emergency Services meeting No. CES- 12-2016 of November 21, 2016. 12. WARD INFORMATION ITEMS 12.1. Bracebridge Ward (Councillor, C. Wilson) A site meeting was held with the Winter Village Working Group at Memorial Park. Plans are underway for the 2016/2017 season and the Working Group continues to seek sponsors. 12.2. Monck/Muskoka Ward (Councillor, M. Quemby) 12.3. Macaulay Ward (Councillor, R. Maloney) 12.4. Draper Ward () 12.5. Oakley Ward (Councillor, B. McMurray) The Public Works Department continues to respond to issues regarding flooding to culverts and ditches due to beaver dams. Work continues on the skating rink at the Oakley Village Square and donated materials have been received to assist with the operation of the rink.

BY-LAWS 16-TC-199 That the following bills be read a first, second and third time and finally passed: Bill No. 89 A by-law of The Corporation of the Town of Bracebridge to zone all of those lands within the boundaries of the Town of Bracebridge (Comprehensive Zoning By-law) (16-PD- 134/135) (PD061-16) Bill No. 90 A by-law of The Corporation of the Town of Bracebridge to appoint by-law enforcement officers for the purpose of towing vehicles for snow clearing operations (08-AF-083) Bill No. 91 14. ANNOUNCEMENTS A By-law of The Corporation of the Town of Bracebridge to Deem Lot 74 on Registered Plan 1, Oakley Ward, in the Town of Bracebridge in the District Municipality of Muskoka (16-PD-140) (PD063-16) (Deeming By-law Tierney) Councillor S. Clement: Thank you to the Town s Christmas organizing committee for their efforts to create an excellent event. Councillor D. Smith: An opening ceremony was held on November 16, 2016 for the new landfill site on Rosewarne Drive. There will be an ongoing education program to enhance the diversion rate in Muskoka to reduce waste going to the landfill site. Councillor A. Buie: Councillor A. Buie noted that recycling bins are being removed in communities as businesses claim that the public are not utilizing the bins correctly and that increased education is still required. Mayor G. Smith: Mayor Smith provided an update on various activities and events he attended on behalf of Council.
