LANARKSHIRE FEDERATION NEWS SEDGEFIELD MAY 9 TH 2015 By Tom Corrie This week takes us to Sedgefield in the Durham area of North East England. The birds were held until 12.45 to allow the weather to improve and the right call was made by the race controller, as the 5,650 birds had a great days racing up the road in a fresh North West Wind. Returns were good for such a testing wind. The night had been bright with cracking visibility and it was a really pleasant day watching the birds return. This week s federation winners are McCormick & Hughes of Uddinston club and for good measure they took 2nd Federation also. As I have covered these guys recently with a loft report it is of no surprise they are back at the top. The winning pigeon really is something special - this small blue hen topped the federation in last year s Upper Heyford nearly 300 miles in a very fast race. Mick would like to thank Martin for training the birds up the east with his own in the evenings.
