Girls Volleyball Girls Volleyball hosts Maine South on Monday in their annual "Middle School night" at 6 p.m. in the dome! Next Monday, Sept 25,is the Go Gold and teacher appreciation match against Evanston. Come out and support a great cause while you catch an awesome match!

Cheer Saturday morning JV and Varsity cheer volunteered at the Alzheimer s Walk at Gallery Park in The Glen. They cheered on the participants at the beginning and passed out refreshments at the finish line. The walkers were so appreciative of us cheering them on and getting them pumped up. Their next going beyond sports project is September 29th. We will be volunteering at Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville.

Boys Soccer This week, the Varsity Soccer team started CSL Conference play with two big wins against Maine South and Niles West.

The Titans defeated the Hawks of Maine South with a score of 2-0. Gavin Morse scored off a Jimmy McMahon assist, and McMahon later scored the second goal off a Justin Leszynski assist. Goalkeeper Christian Noordover and the defensive line anchored by Morse, Kyle Barda, Michael Zenzola, and Ryan Batka earned the shutout. On Thursday, the Titans battled the Wolves of Niles West to a 3-2 win. Scoring for the TItans were McMahon (2 goals) and Morse. Barda and McMahon each had an assist. On Saturday, Glenbrook South traveled to Lake Forest and played to a 2-2 tie. McMahon scored both goals for the Titans (bringing his total for the season to 11 goals). The Titans record currently sits at 7-1-4 (2-0 in the CSL South). This upcoming week, the Varsity Soccer team has several big games. On Monday, the Titans are hosting ETHS for our Go Gold game (7pm in the Stadium). Please come out to support the team as they raise money towards pediatric cancer research. On Thursday, the Titans are hosting Niles North for our annual Teacher Appreciation game (7 p.m. in the Stadium). Finally, on Saturday (September 22nd), the Titans are hosting the Spartans of Glenbrook North for our Homecoming game (12 p.m. in the Stadium).

Football The Titans lost on the road to Fremd Friday night, 38-7. We always talk about what we re playing for, and we re playing for each other, head coach Dave Schoenwetter told the Glenview Lantgern. There s always lessons to be learned in losses and wins, but probably more in losses. We encourage them to stay the course and that the process pays off at the end.

I think they re getting a lot of experience on the varsity level but at the same time, I think they re seeing the physicality of the schedule that we re playing, Schoenwetter said of the younger players. They know they re going to have to do a great job in the weight room. The Titans Face Niles North on Homecoming, Friday, Sept 21, at 7 p.m. in the stadium. Let's pack the house!

Poms Go Gold On October 5th, Titan sports will band together to GO GOLD to help fund research for childhood cancer. We invite 6-8th graders to perform with us at the October 5th Varsity Football game. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Cal s Angels and our personal philanthropy PAULA PACKS, which provides goodie bags to people who are undergoing chemotherapy. Here are the details: Thursday, October 4th - Registration 3:30-4 p.m. Practice with the Titan Poms 4-6 p.m. Dismissal at 6 p.m. Friday, October 5th - Meet at the Football Field @ 7:30 p.m. Performance at halftime of the Varsity Football Game!! Fee - $40 Includes a Go Gold Titan Poms T-Shirt Register for this exciting event! GO GOLD REGISTRATION FORM Questions - Ask Julie Smith jsmith@glenbrook225.org
