SUFFOLK NETBALL We might be in the first few months of 2018 but the planning and excitement for the Netball World Cup 2019 in Liverpool is certainly ramping up with the launch to the big event taking place in January in Liverpool city centre. At the England Netball staff conference last week we were given some exciting previews into the time line of events and details on ticket sales and packages due to be released very soon. Tickets for England Members, that's you guys, will be released in July so it's worth starting to think about what games and teams you really want to see as well as travel and accommodation. Also, it's vital you ensure all your contact details are up to date on MyNet, your club secretary can help you with this. You can sign up to receive more information and updates at www.nwc2019.co.uk There are plenty of volunteering opportunities available too so sign up today! The dates of the NWC are 12th-21st July 2019 at ACC Liverpool
LATEST NEWS Late last year I was contacted by Tony Bass, Strategic Leisure Advisor for Babergh and Mid-Suffolk who had some good news for us - there was a pot of money with our name on it! Tony had identified a lack of Netball courts in the area of Suffolk since the courts at Needham were vandalised and were no longer in use. Due to the redevelopment of the Middle School in Needham Tony was able to access some funding and was delighted to inform me that his first aim was to get the courts redeveloped and playable again. I contacted all the teams who used to play at Needham as well as other local clubs and league and County representatives and we met with Tony and the Community Centre Manager, Louise to discuss the options and what we want going forward. The project is now currently out to tender with various contractors and we hope that work will start in the next few months with the courts ready by September 2018 in time for next season. Whilst we have the majority of the work funded, we are keen to raise some cash to help towards new posts and post protectors and we are holding a Quiz Night on Thursday 12th April - see poster below in the noticeboard section for more information.
