1 Meeting notes Subject Issued by Lincolnshire County Netball AGM Justine Healy Date 4 th July 2011 Location Present Bishop Grosseteste College Vanessa McErlain, Paula Hill, Mandy Hall, Claire Annall, Justine Healy, Louise Key, Representatives from; Lincoln Sirens, Hinchcliffe Hydraulics, Louth, Lincoln City, Pink Ladies Netball Club, Fenland, Horncastle, Horncastle Belles, Boston Juniors, 1 Apologies: C.Morton, E Mcgarel, Tracey Chapman, Pauline Hay, Deb Wood, 2 Minutes from last meeting Minutes from last AGM were read and agreed as a true a good record. Proposed by Dave Thomas and seconded by Jane Walsh. 3. Chairs Report Increase participation in the Lincs county league Sleaford Barge retaining their place in the Regional league well done ladies again Lincoln City 2 nd senior team have qualified for the regional league well done. Our u16 league winners going on to represent the region at the national finials well done Brigg & District Lincoln city u19s winning the E.mids champs well done to them as well. We again have managed to successfully run 2 satellite and 2 county excel academies with approx 85 athletes getting regular training We have had 7 athletes selected and regular train in the regional excel programmes Megan Chapman, Emily Downie, Sophie prentice, Lucy Wallis, Emma Sharp, Emily Watson & We also saw our first Lincolnshire player selected for NTL well done to Hannah Millns and another player selected for the development squad well done to Emily Marshall Approx 14 athletes identified from the current academies are taking part in up to 6 weeks of development training at Loughborough well done to those girls. We had full representation at the East Mids celebration event recently at Derby following the AGM Paula Hill won the Mary Bulloch Admin award at the Golden
2 Globe awards and Brigg & District Netball Club won the Outstanding Club award. All our clubs working with juniors have either registered or gained CAPS status and we have our First Gold CAPS club Our web site is continualy updated and this year has had the league tables / results on it. We have 2 NDO s that between them cover the whole of Lincolnshire working hard to ensure our development plans are delivered and that Netball in Lincolnshire is not behind the rest of the sports. We have seen coaches qualify including our first Level 3 and 5 more on their way to completing theirs We have seen umpires pass beginner / and C awards and 1 more B award well done to Jenny Goodwin We have had another C award Tester qualified We have various B2N schemes up and running attracting new players and players back into our game these are being run across the width and depth of the county. In conclusion : there are many people at local league level, club level as well as county level that facilitate the participation and contribute to the Netball being played in Lincolnshire today and a BIG SPECIAL THANK YOU goes to each and every one of them, who work tirelessly throughout the year organizing course, fixtures, leagues and other events for us all to take part in. that s not forgetting all our umpires, coaches, team mangers and parents & family who without our grass routes netball would not happen. and a extra thank you now to the Lincs committee who again have supported me in the role of chair, and helped us deliver our 2010/11 development plan. here s to the 2011/12 season and many more beyond. 4 Treasurers Report Report will be published on the website. Balance at time of AGM The County have subsidised umpiring courses and the County Presentation Evening. Monies have been paid out for County League, Academies, expenses, affiliation, scholarships and clothing. 5. Coaching Report MH asked for volunteers to be coaching Secretary. Academies South 19 girls at U16 They competed in a Inter County Festival, 2 teams were entered and both came 2 nd in their respective leagues. There is a possibility for an Academy Plus, for over 16 s South Satellites 24 girls at U14 There were 64 volunteers and they could have took younger. 5 athletes went to Rosie Port 1 was sent for extra training North 2 satellites U12 and U14-U16 4 were moved to County 4 to pre regional County Took 17 to County and added 1 6 went onto Pre regional 3 were from Satellite 2 went onto pre NTL training
3 MH and VMc attended a meeting at Loughborough. They are going to Propose an Academy Plus for U19 as a stepping stone to pre NTL There will also be an Advanced Academy of Sports Excellence 6. Umpiring 3 beginners courses were held, at Brigg, Lincoln and Spalding, feedback has been good. C Tests have been held in Lincoln, 4 were tested, 2 passed. LK stressed the importance of the umpiring testing process. A C Award Course is to be held in Lincoln in September details TBC Hopefully a C testing afternoon will be held. It was noted that ideally need 2-3yrs between beginners course and test. There are no outstanding payments or courses or tests. 7. Affiliations England Netball have put up affiliations by 1 County charge 2009/10 for a senior was A vote was taken as to what the increase this year would be. 1 st option Seniors 1, Youth 50p 2 nd option Senior 50p, Youth 30p AGM voted unanimously in favour of the 2 nd option. 2 nd Affiliations for anyone wishing o 2 nd affiliate to LCNA the payments will be as follows; Senior- 6, Youth 4 League affiliation fee will be waived unless they play up to U12. Then they will affiliate as a league Affilation outside Lincs your insurance drops from Gold to Silver if you play outside of Lincolnshire. You need to clarify with the County holding the tournament if you are eligible. We don t insure U12 as a league because of insurance issues. The individual may need separate insurance if not affiliated. 8. Netball Development Officer Please see attached Report from NDO 9. Secretary Minutes nothing to report General nothing to report 10. Schools There is no direct link to the schools committee. We now need a direct link to this committee although this committee may be disbanded. Hi5 there were 16 teams in Hi5 finals, St Hughes came 1 st and Rauceby came 2 nd. These then attended the Regional Competition Rauceby came 1 st and St Hughes came 2 nd. 11 Election of Officers It was suggested that we have a sub-committee to help out as and when we need it. 3 volunteers were found at the meeting: Robyn Rogers, Maria Shaw, Abbi Johnson Chair- Vanessa McLerlain Vice Chair/General Secretary Paula Hill Minutes Secretary Justine Healy Affiliations/Netball Development Officer/ Umpiring Louise Key Academies Mandy Hall

5 B2N Market Rasen 10 week pilot has run with an average of ladies over the 10 weeks. Now running as Social Netball on a Monday evening 8.00 till 9.00pm. Louth Meridian LC 10 week pilot started June 7 th.2011 Monday evenings 6.00pm till 7.00pm. Coach Lindsey Burton and at present still averaging ladies a year on Gainsborough 10 week pilot to started 18th May for 10 weeks Coach Laura Bee. First night 36 ladies. Now has an average of 15 ladies weather permitting as it is an outdoor venue. Bassingham A new scheme is due to start on the 18 th July at the Hammond Hall Sports Centre. 7 till 8.30pm on a Monday Evening. Coach will be Louise Muir Children and Young People All of Lincolnshire clubs have SCL agreements in place. Washingborough Imps, Pink Ladies and Gainsborough clubs are working towards their Bronze Awards. All Stars NC in Long Sutton arelooking to develop juniors in the near future. Communication The County website has had 23,325 hits Needs information! All CAPs registered clubs are published on the site, and on the new flyer which is distributed throughout the County in schools, at competitions, through Sports Development Officers and many more avenues as they appear. The flyer will be updated annually and the website weekly. All clubs and teams will receive updated information from me daily as I receive it so please ensure I have up to date contacts. We also have a pop up banner to use at events to publicise Netball in our County. Coaching and Officiating Umpiring 3 Beginner courses have run one in Brigg, Lincoln and Spalding 50 people have attended. We will now be looking at arranging testing for those at the required level 10 members have passed their C award. More testing will be done in Grimsby in the forthcoming months. Mark McErlain Naylor is now a certified C tester Jenny Goodwin has achieved her B Award Stuart McErlain Naylor and Lisa Hinchcliff have received mentoring towards their B Awards form Yorkshire and Humberside Vanessa McErlain achieved her UKCC Level 3 Award wiich will put Brigg Club well on its way to a Gold Clubmark Accreditation. Numerous new UKCC Level 1's, Level 2's across the county UKCC level 1 course booked at Trent Valley Acadamy February 2012 Please see the website for application forms and details of how to apply for a County Bursary. Recognition Brigg and District NC received the Community Club of the Year Award and Paula Hill the Mary Bullock Administration Award at the Regional Goalden Globes held in Derby on the 29 th June They will now go forward the the national Awards New Lincolnshire Sports Awards for 2011 Netball Workshops 28 th February 2011 Youth Umpire Orientation Workshop
