Today s Theme for Safe School s Week is: The End of Bullying Begins with YOU be somebody s hero! During the month of October, schools celebrate Bullying Prevention Month. Just think What would be the rewards of having a school where bullying is not tolerated? Kids would feel safe. Kids would feel included. Kids would feel like their opinions mattered. Kids would look for the good in others and value differences. What can YOU do to keep our school bully free? Check out the signs on your locker today This is how you can make a difference and keep our schools safe! At the end of class if you have time, we are inviting students and teachers to watch Kid President s 4 minute video titled HERO. (This can also be viewed during RESOURCE time.) The next few weeks we will dedicate our Spectacular Spartans to our top earners for the school fundraiser and those staff members who are going above and beyond to make it an awesome time! School Fundraiser and Lock-in Convocation This is happening today! 8 th graders will go to Gym 1 from at 12:35 (Mosaic students report to Gym 1 from Lunch) and 7 th graders are going at 2:10. Be sure to put your yellow Spartan Walkathon envelope in your bookbag and take it home today. Bring it back next week with the $$$ you raised.

Question: Which superhero would be able to complete the obstacle course the fastest? The best answer will win a Panera treat! Cafeteria Menu POPCORN SHRIMP AND BISCUIT OR FISH SANDWICH WITH CHEESE 1. IUPUC is sponsoring an event called TechSavvy, which is a national event to engage middle school-aged girls in STEM activities and to inform them about the good career opportunities in STEM fields. The IUPUC TechSavvy will be held November 8 main office. 2. FCA will meet next Thur. Oct. 30 in Gym II for a 'Ghostly' time. th. Flyers are in the 3. Congratulations to this week s PBIS Super Stars who get the parking spots for the next two weeks. Mrs. Davis is being recognized for providing active supervision and direction to students in the classroom and Mr. Muckerheide for teaching the Run, Hide, Fight presentation for a teacher who was absent. They both get the awesome parking spots for the next two weeks! 5. It is time to check out the Lost and Found and pick up any items you left behind as we will be cleaning this out and donating all clothing/supplies. You have until the end of the week. 6. From the media center: Manga Club meets after school today. Permission slips are available in the library.

7. Sports pictures can be picked up at lunch in the main office today. THE FOLLOWING STUDENT NEEDS TO BE SEEN IN THE MAIN OFFICE: FOOTBALL The 7 th grade football banquet will be Monday, October 27 th at 6 pm in the cafeteria. Libby Cutler a Senior at North high school is putting on a free high jump clinic. If you are interested in learning the skills and technique to be a better high jumper in Track and Field you can pick up a flyer in the guidance office. Perfect Attendance Challenge- Win a free ipad Mini! Students who have perfect attendance during the dates of August 6, 2014 through December 1, 2014, will be eligible to enter the drawing for 3 ipad Minis. For the purposes of this contest PERFECT attendance is defined as - No absences, No tardies, No early departures, No doctor's appointment. Basically - You can't miss school! Those students with perfect attendance will also be eligible for The Festival of Lights Parade on December 6, 2014.
