First and foremost, the ATA Board of s has been busy making arrangements for Judging staff, hotel and RV rental accommodations (more on that below), banquet arrangements, ordering of plaques and ribbons, his year Marlys Meacham T started working on an idea to get our ATA members information on renting an RV during the ATA show as opposed to renting a hotel room. There are many advantages to renting an RV, not the least of which is the convenience of being near the ISE show and avoiding the long drive and traffic hassles of coming from a hotel. Another advantage is that you can prepare your own meals, ATA NEWS plus all of the small details that make our show so great! Something new and exiting that competitors will notice this year is the score sheets that we will be using. If you have competed at a Regional, National, or World show lately, you are familiar with the new NTA score sheets being used, and the ATA has purchased these score sheets for use at our 2018 show and in future shows. Both judges and competitors like these new score sheets, as they really help judges give more thorough critiques and also help competitors more easily see where improvements are needed. As we did last year, we will be doing taxidermy demonstrations for the public during the show as well. There will be three demonstrations during the show: saving restaurant costs, plus you can take a break during the show without having to drive across town! Chuck and Marlys rented an RV last year, and were very pleased with the convenience and service from Going Places RV Rentals. Marlys negotiated a great deal with them for rentals, ranging from $525-$669 for three nights rental. In comparison, a hotel room would range from $149- $189 per night for three nights W I N T E R 2 0 1 7 / 2 0 1 8 Pronghorn shoulder mount; Duck mounting; and Fish anatomy and painting. This was a big hit last year and we expect a good response from the public again this year. Speaking of last year s activities, we are also planning on having another ATA BBQ in the RV section adjacent to the ISE show venue like we did last year. This will be a great time and an opportunity to mingle with ATA members and judges while enjoying some great food! We hope everyone will be able to make it, last year it was a really fun time! See schedule for details. Your ATA Board of s has been working hard to make 2018 our best show ever, and we hope to see everyone in Scottsdale in March! RV Rentals: A Great Way to Stay Close and Avoid Hassles! ($447-$567 before taxes), plus you have the hassle of driving back and forth to the show with the traffic. We highly recommend contacting Going Places RV Rentals (Renae Cannon @ 623-221-1161) to rent your RV, and mention you are with the ATA. The RV will be waiting for you at the show ready to move in, and all you have to bring are your bed linens and your food, and the rest is taken care of!
