1 Tustin Tennis Club Member of the USTA P. O. Box 1484, Tustin, CA 92781 Website: http://www.tustintennisclub.org JUNE, 2017 Newsletter President s Message Team, we should all be proud of the fact that we enjoy tennis, walks and friendly get-togethers, which are essential hallmarks of long and healthful living. I certainly feel blessed to see enthusiastic folks at the courts and sometimes at the easy hikes. Our historian, Gary Blackburn has suggested that if you would like any of your group pictures captured in our historical profiles, please send him a link to those pictures. These historical records are generally brought out at our year-end holiday party, but can be viewed anytime, if requested. Just to let you all know that hikes are part of a volunteer group activity of like-minded folks it is not sponsored or sanctioned by Tustin Tennis Club. TTC membership is not required to participate in these hikes, and you are free to bring your friends. Along these lines, we are also exploring 1-day family picnic events during the year, where we can play some tennis and do light hiking in the neighboring areas. We will let you know as soon as it is finalized. All of us are lucky to be living in one of the best climates, here in Orange County and yet we have some days even better than others! On days when more of our friends show up at the courts, it seem that waiting to play can be somewhat longer than we would like. These wait times are especially noticed during, what I call peak hours, 9:15am to 10:15am so one way to mitigate this is to plan on playing in the earlier or late hours. You can certainly request likeminded folks to either meet early or late in the day (playing past 11:30am is OK too!). All TTC members are ambassadors of this club and committed to improvements in tennis play, and increase in membership. A non-member is allowed to try our club play, just once. If you see a new person in the court, please let them know that the club appreciates their participation and welcomes their try out. Please do offer guidance to the new person regarding the membership form. Please continue to have fun, keep healthy and do come to the courts, even if you are not able to play for some reason. Please provide your comments, ideas, suggestions and advice so we may continue to improve our club. Ishwar Chander TTC-President
