MEETING MINUTES August 1,2017 Call to Order: President Richard Fox called the meeting to order at 6:16pm and welcomed the 34 members present. Minutes: The minutes for the June membership meeting as e-mailed to the club membership were approved. Treasurer s Report: Treasurer Steve Primavera presented the treasurer s report through June 30 th and July 31 st, which was accepted by the membership with no comments. Membership Chairman: Bill Bordwine stated that we now have 67 members paid through 2017. National Corvette Museum: John Fort announced that anyone planning on making purchases from the NCM store to call him once they have selected their item(s) so he can place the order. This will give our show credit for the purchase and you will save the shipping charge. Items then can be picked-up at the NCM Store at our upcoming show. NCM Ambassador Don Paulson covered the following topics: Those taking Museum delivery now will have the opportunity to do free touring laps at Motorsport Park using a museum corvette (a $199 value). You can now get a ride in a 66, 79 or 2003 Museum Corvette for $20 to enhance your museum experience. The Karplex is now open for those wishing to race a go-cart. A settlement agreement has been reached regarding the Nuisance Lawsuit against the NCM. The NCM is asking for volunteers to help with Corvette Store sales at the upcoming Carlisle Corvette Show. Please review the Ambassador s Report published in the newsletter and website for more detail on these topics. Show Chairman: Richard Fox has sent show information to last year s attendees and flyers have been distributed to the Charleston and Myrtle Beach shows. Tony Caracciolo stated that Independence Mall is under new management and everything is set for our show, we just need to sign the contract. Also, Chic-fil-A has offered free lunch to all show volunteers. All you need is your club polo shirt and name badge. He will be ordering a 20 X 20 tent instead of the 20 X 40 tent as there will be no silent auction this year. Howard RV Center will be providing an RV with awning for the show. Tony also mentioned that he will have the polo shirts that were ordered at the next meeting. He will have the T-shirts at the show which will be free to show workers. Greg Stanley said that 6 Vettes have pre-registered and he has 8 volunteers for registration duties so he all set. He will hold a training session as everyone is new.

Phil Eames stated he has the 9 volunteers needed for judging, there are some others that will be on a back-up list in case someone has to back-out. Judging will start at 11:00am. There will be 3 trophies for club participants separate from the main show judging that will be selected by people s choice. Old Business: June 24 th : A group of members toured Glen Healy s collection of cars and memorabilia and enjoyed a hot dog lunch. It was a fun time and everyone thanked Glen for his hospitality. We are pleased to let you know that a settlement agreement has been reached with the family. The main issues that were agreed to include: The NCM will purchase the real estate located at 192, 198 and 278 Grimes Road. This is the 3 houses, the saddle shop and a total of 16 acres located on the right at the entrance to the MSP. Closing on or before 7 months. Both parties agree to not disparage or otherwise make public comments against the other party now or in the future. An Agreed Order of Dismissal for all claims asserted in the lawsuit shall be entered in the Warren Circuit Court. This settlement allows the MSP staff to move forward with the recent momentum generated from the opening of the Karting or Kart Plex --- the 5 new Corvettes purchased and available for touring laps and the Corvette Experience --- and the two new Camaro s. This is an exciting time for the MSP and also the NCM. If you, or your club members are willing to volunteer, please contact Marla McClure at marla@corvettemuseum.org We will be set up from Thursday, August 24 through Sunday August 27 and would like volunteers to please commit to a four hour shift during the event.
