At Lincoln Prairie, we prefer to approach fundraising differently. The Lincoln Prairie philosophy for fundraising follows two principles: 1) never fundraise in a manner that forces the students to sell products to their neighbors in a door-to-door situation, and 2) never fundraise in a manner that sells products to parents at inflated prices. Our PTSA does most of our fundraising through the Lunch Extreme, Treat Day, Pancake Breakfast and Fun Fair committees. In addition to the PTSA fundraising activities, we support fundraising that directly goes to the school. Did you know last year we earned over $1000 from Box Tops for Education? The bi-annual book fair raises funds for the Learning Resource Center. The Curriculum Enhancement committee chairs work openly with the teachers to provide course enrichment, assemblies, or subsidized field trips. There are many ways you can help support the LP community and PTSA. Below are some unique ones that may be new to you. Michelle s Musings Shoparoo - This is an app you can download on your phone and you scan your shopping receipts. A portion of the dollar amount spent on the receipt is given back to the school. Last year we earned $400. Amazon smile - Go to smile.amazon.com, login to your account and choose Lincoln Prairie PTSA. Then when you shop using smile.amazon.com, Amazon will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to the PTSA. MightyNest.com - This is a unique Web site that provides you the ability to research, get advice and buy natural, organic and non-toxic products all in one place while earning 15% of your purchase for our school. Know of more? Tell us about them. E-mail michellesmile726@gmail.com with details. 1

A big THANK YOU to Jeanna Wong & Abby Vaagan for their help with last week's Subway Lunch Extreme! Our kiddos enjoy fun lunch because of our great volunteers! Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much - Helen Keller Our Picture Day Chair, Molly Carris, and the PTSA want to extend a BIG THANKS to all our picture day volunteers who spent their day helping to make Picture Day a great success; Yvonne Ahrens, Kim Trunk, and Genine Murray. If your child missed picture day, re-takes are scheduled for Thursday, November 17th. Watch for more information as we get closer to the date! It s coming! Neighborhood T-shirts are being printed as we speak. Many thanks to Mrs. Brosk and the Art Club for all their hard and fast work on the t-shirt designs. The Art Club met soon after the neighborhood themes were announced and worked hard to get designs finished for each of the three neighborhoods. The Spirit Wear committee is hopeful that families will have their t-shirts in-hand by the November WSM (Whole School Meeting). T- shirts will be sent home via kid mail (AKA sent home with your child). 3
