TRAP - WINTER LEAGUE Krys Schindler 541.496.3231 Winter Trap League will start Sunday, January 8 th, 2017. Fees are $12 per week for ten weeks. We will have the same format; teams will be made up of seven shooters, team scores will be the top five scores, and you will be able to drop your lowest scores. One other change for this year, if you shoot a 25 straight in singles, you will shoot your handicap from the 27-yard line. Format this year is starting with the Draft on Sunday, December 4 th. Team captains will draw for teams. Each team will consist of two above average shooters, two average shooters, and three not quite average shooters (based on last year s averages). You may not be on the same team as your friends or with last year s teammates, but you can be squadded with your buddies or however you desire on the days you shoot. If you want to shoot Winter League but cannot make December 4 th, please email or call. If you have questions or concerns or ideas and/or changes for the improvement of Winter Trap League, PLEASE CONTACT Krys or Dan Schindler jdk.fishhawk@gmail.com or 541-496-3231. Five of the fellows were from out-of-town and it is great to see those folks go to the expense and what not to shoot in the match. With only two places between here and Raton, NM with moving backers which allow registered group matches, it is important to keep this match going. Chuck Allen of Roseburg shot lights out in the Heavy Rifle Class that had 7 of the 8 shooters participating. Roy Jenkins from Sutherlin kept our local boys as the top two finishing just behind Chuck. It was great to see Dr. Jess Miller from Springfield, our 90+ age shooter post the smallest group of the day with a.291. This was the only group in the 2's for an entire match. Jess recently had surgery on both eyes and the results are already being manifested in his shooting skill. All the guys are real happy for Jess. Next match will be Saturday, December 3 rd. Sign up is at 7:00 a.m. with the match starting as close to 8:00 a.m. as possible. For information regarding this shoot, call or email at: thirtyppc@gmail.com. JUNIOR RIFLES Ralph Klein 541-459-9517 We started the year with eight kids, we are down to six now. Practice is going well. With a month s experience the beginning shooters are doing great. The first goal of a beginner is no misses. They are well past that, shooting in the 70's and 80's already. The kids returning from last year are learning kneeling and standing. So with the new positions, their first goal is no misses. We will venture down to Grants Pass for our first match of the season Saturday, December 17 th. HIGHPOWER Ralph Klein 541-459-9517 We had a match on Saturday, November 12 th. I won with a 400-34X. That means I shot 400 out of a possible 400 and only six shots were out of the X ring. Frank Biehl was second with a 387-11X and Tom Jordan was third with a 370-6X. Our next match will be Saturday, December 10 th. Sign up is at 8:30 a.m.
