All nine starters, including DH Ramon Castro, had a hit for the Fish, who belted out seven extra-base hits, including two doubles by Derrek Lee and a home run by Mike Lowell. Entering 2017 it is still the largest margin of victory for the Marlins in series history. On June 10, 2005 at Dolphins Stadium, the Marlins led 5-1 before allowing a four-run eighth inning to Texas. Florida responded in the bottom of the frame with a sevenrun outburst, on eight hits, highlighted by a Mike Lowell grand slam. The Fish set their series-bests in runs and hits (17) in the 12-5 win. Lowell has the most career home runs (4) and RBI (13) of any Marlins player against the Rangers, and is tied with Luis Castillo for the most hits (13).
