The Open and Junior breeding show will be sanctioned by the American Boer Goat Association (ABGA) and their rules shall govern. No USBGA or IBGA papers will be accepted at any ABGA shows. In case of discrepancy, or for rules not adequately covered, the OHBGA Board of Directors and/or judge s decision is final. If a JABGA show is held, their rules will govern said junior show. Be sure to check the ABGA web site for all new show rule changes. 2. A Junior ABGA (JABGA) member must be under the age of 19 on January 1 st of the current year and must have their membership card available. 3. The breeding classes will use the birth dates, as listed on the registration certificate, to determine the class divisions. The show date will be the base date for computing all ages. 4. Original registration certificates are required to be shown at check-in, though a copy of a Registration Application, stamped with the date received by the ABGA, can be accepted for kids less than 3 months of age. 5. Goats entered in the JABGA show must be registered in the name of the JABGA exhibitor. JABGA exhibitors are responsible for showing their own animals and must have their JABGA card with them at the gate. If a JABGA exhibitor has more than one entry in a class, the other goat(s) must be shown by another JABGA member. This is a JABGA show, their rules apply, see attached list of JABGA Regional Show Rules. 6. All animals must be in place, and registration papers checked in with the show secretary, by 8 a.m. each day. Pen availability will be on a first come basis. 7. If entries were received within the appropriate time (on or before the postmarked deadline) then additional entries can be added at the regular entry fee. If more than two entries need to be added after the postmark deadline then double fees will be charged. Substitutions are allowed. No refunds. There will be a $32.00 service charge for NSF checks. 8. All animals must be healthy. No visible signs of abscesses or other contagious diseases (pinkeye, soremouth, ringworm etc.) will be allowed. Any unhealthy or questionable animals checked by the veterinarian will be at the owner s expense. The show committee reserves the right to excuse any animal of questionable health. 9. All out of state animals must have health papers (including recipient does) and proper tests needed by the state of Ohio. All out of state exhibitors must be at the fairgrounds at 8:00am (vet-check time subject to change) on Saturday morning to have health papers checked by the veterinarian or they will not be able to show and will forfeit all entry fees. If you want to show on Sunday only, and you are out of state, you will need to cover the cost of the veterinarian. No health papers are required for Ohio goats. 10. All goats must comply with Ohio scrapie rules. Questions: contact the Ohio State Veterinarian at 614-469-5602. 11. The show committee and/or this fairground will not be held responsible for loss, damages or accidents. 12. Any person or family not acting in an honorable manner will be required to leave immediately and will not be allowed to return for the remainder of the show. 13. Wethers entered in a junior exhibitor s name must be shown by said exhibitor unless exhibiting more than one goat in a single class. All four feet of your wether must remain on the ground. No unethical practices and all treatment of animals shall comply with OAC 901. 14. The scales for the wethers will be open from 7:30am-8:30am on Sunday morning. The scales will close promptly at 8:30am (or when all goats in line have been weighed). If you are not in line to be weighed by 8:30am you will not be weighed; no exceptions. The scales will not be held open (nor be reopened) if you are not in line to be weighed. 15. THANK YOU Humble Family, for supplying the scales for weigh-in!
