THE VETTE SETTE President s Corner Hold on tight as we take off into the Classic Glass Corvette time of the year. There are plenty of car shows for you to spit shine the Vette and get in the sunshine and show off the best sports car in America. Also there are a ton of cruises coming your way, some day trips and some overnighters for the group that likes to just get out and drive. Vettestock @ Bogey s was the first of our car shows that we put on and it was a great success. We had 65 cars there, even with a little threat of rain. We got wet 3 times during the day but no one seamed to get upset, they just went out and wiped her down and then got back to the fun. We gave out 23 trophies, Top 20, Bogey s Choice, Crowd Pleaser and the Best of Show. Best of show went to our own Tim Eason with his Burgundy 67 convertible. We had our 1 st SuperVette Saturday meeting Saturday before last and it went well. We started thinking and made some small decisions. If you would like to be involved, please let us know or just listen for the next meeting time and place. We will have two more meetings before the show in August. We still need every ones help in asking for some door prizes and silent auction items. Help make this the best show yet. Some of our upcoming events include the Mid Alabama show May 20th, Classic Glass Corvette Club work weekend at the NCM June 3 rd - 4 th and Dyno Days at MTI Racing on June 10th. Be sure to be at these and join the fun. A Monthly Publication For The Members of The Volume XVI Issue 5 May, 2006 Page 1 We had our May general meeting at US Play and it went well. They have a nice room and good audiovisual. We are still talking to Sidelines and they are telling us that they want us to stay and that they will make improvements to keep us. So stay in touch and we will keep you informed about the progress. I would like any and all comments about this subject. Please email me at (bartom@bellsouth.net) and let me know what you think. Let your voice be heard. We have a good line up so far of events and cruises but we can use some more. Do not worry about the calendar being too full as people have different likes and we can have more than one thing on the same weekend. Let Cindy know or tell me and I will get with Cindy for you and we will get you on the calendar. It got to be a game of wipe off not wipe---out as the rain came and went and came and went and --- well you get the picture. But no matter it did not dampen the spirit of those in attendance nor those lookers. PeachState Posse s website has a goodly number of pictures from Bogey s. Find your car. Well as you can see, Harriette is now the secretary. Any mistakes, blame Bill. If all is ok with the minutes, Harriette will,of course, take all of the credit. She has never done minutes before so be wary of what you say in her hearing, it may end up in the next month s Vette Sette. Kudos to Chris and Merv for having the good sense to sell cozies with Coke at Bogey s Thanks to Jamie McSwain for her service as secretary. As we all know, sometimes our business life gets in the way of our fun life and something has to give. Thanks Jamie.
