www.taberminorhockey.com Hockey Teams: For players 5-18 years of age and various developmental levels. Teams are involved in local leagues and AA league and have opportunities to compete in League play, League playoffs and Provincial playoffs. Teams also attend tournaments out of town and may host a tournament of their own. Warm-up Camp: Is held for 2 weeks in mid-september prior to organizing all players on to teams for the upcoming season. Warm-up Camp fee is included in registration fees for TMH players. Players from neighboring associations are welcome to attend and pre-registration is required. Pre-Initiation Age Hockey: A development program within TMH. A program for players 4 years of age. An introduction to hockey and a chance to learn a good skill base before entering regular hockey. Clinics for Referee Certification Clinics for Coach Certification Weekly instruction for goalies Power Skating for teams REGISTRATION: Registration for upcoming season is done online starting May 1 st. The first level of our Bronze medal family, Bronze Star is excellent preparation for success in Bronze Medallion. Bronze Medallion: teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education -- judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness. Bronze Cross: teaches the difference between lifesaving and lifeguarding, the principles of emergency procedures and teamwork. Lifesavers learn how to rescue a spinal-injured victim and a pulseless victim. Standard First Aid & CPR C: in a learn-by-doing approach, Standard First Aid teaches dealing with a wide range of injuries and life threatening emergencies. Emphasis is placed on vital signs, priority assessment and basic emergency care principles. Excellent for those who wish to have the knowledge and skills to deal with many National Lifeguard (NL): Recognized as the standard measurement of lifeguard performance in Canada, NLS education is designed to develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard. Prerequisites: 16 years of age, Bronze Cross, Standard First Aid/CPR Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI): The course further develops instructional ability by focusing on how to effectively plan and teach the Red Cross Swim continuum: Red Cross Swim Preschool, Red Cross Swim Kids and AquaAdults. If you are 8-15 years old and looking for a fun way to get fit and meet new friends try the Junior Lifeguarding Club. As part of the Lifesaving Society, the Junior Lifesaving Club offers high activity challenges in an energetic learning environment on dry land and in the pool. The club encourages the development of skills based on personal bests in swimming, lifesaving, fitness, first aid knowledge, leadership and teamwork.
