Philadelphia will call on rookie RHP Alec Asher, who is making his fifth career start, first against the Marlins. Miami returns home following a seven-game road trip that took the Club to the Mets (2-1) and Nationals (1-3). Following this series, the Marlins wrap up their home schedule with three games against the Atlanta Braves (Sept. 25-27). VS. THE PHILLIES Miami has gone 6-9 against Philadelphia this season. After earning wins in four of the first five games between the teams, the Fish have just two wins in the last 10. The Marlins have gone 97-91 against the Phils in Miami, including an 19-17 mark at Marlins Park. The Fish trail the overall series, however, 167-207. LAST NIGHT The Marlins rallied in the 10 th inning to erase a one-run deficit, and walked off 4-3 winners on an RBI double by Dee Gordon in the 11 th. It was their ninth walk-off victory of the season. Miami tallied runs in the second and fourth to take a 2-0 lead, but saw it slip away, with the Phillies tying the score in the eighth. Following a run by Philadelphia in the 10 th, a fielding miscue by the Phils on a sac bunt by Donovan Solano allowed Ichiro Suzuki to score to tie the game in the bottom of the frame. Then with two outs in the 11 th, Miguel Rojas singled and Ichiro walked to bring up Gordon for the game winner. Brian Ellington (2-1) earned the win in relief, while starter Adam Conley struck out a career-high eight batters in the no-decision. UP NEXT The Marlins open a three-game set against the Braves tomorrow night (7:10 p.m.), marking their final home series of the season. Miami has gone just 6-10 against Atlanta this year, but is currently enjoying a four-game winning streak over the Braves, all at Turner Field. The Fish are 0-6 against the Braves at home this season and 84-100 all-time (9-25 at Marlins Park). Atlanta leads the overall series, 218-156. AC HEATING UP Over his last six starts, Adam Conley has gone 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA (33.1 ip/10 er) and 36 strikeouts to 12 walks (one intentional). His 2.70 ERA over that span (August 23) leads all rookies (min. 6 GS). Lance McCullers and Aaron Nola are tied for second behind Conley with 3.32 marks. KEEPING IT REAL J.T. Realmuto keeps improving on his impressive rookie campaign. He already holds the Franchise records for a rookie catcher in the following categories: games played (111), runs (45), hits (105), doubles (18), triples (6) and RBI (45). His current.257 average would surpass Charles Johnson s.251 mark in 1995. Realmuto (10) is also one home run away from tying Johnson for Club mark by a rookie catcher. His 105 hits are the most by a rookie catcher since Geovany Soto recorded 137 in 2008 for the Chicago Cubs. BIG BANG THEORY Justin Bour hit his 19 th home run of the season last night, which ranks tied for third with Carlos Correa among Major League rookies, behind Kris Bryant (26) and Joc Pederson (25). It s the most HR by a Marlins rookie since Giancarlo Stanton (22) and Gaby Sanchez (19) in 2010, and ranks tied for sixth all-time, behind Dan Uggla (27 in 2006). Bour also owns 63 RBI this season, good for fourth among Major League rookies, behind Bryant (98), Matt Duffy (71) and Mark Canha (66). The last Marlins rookie with 63-or-more RBI in a season was Gaby Sanchez in 2010 (85). Uggla owns the all-time mark with 90 RBI in 2006. MIGGY GETTING JIGGY Since stepping in for Adeiny Hechavarria on September 2, Miguel Rojas has supplied quality defense (1.000 fielding percentage) to go along with a.293 (17x58) batting average. Over his last 12 contests, Rojas is batting.350 (14x40) with three doubles, a home run and four RBI. He is in the midst of a career-best eight-game hitting streak, during which he is hitting.429 (12x28). His previous long was a six-game stretch earlier this season, from July 19 to August 2. 50/50 CLUB Dee Gordon enters tonight with 54 multi-hit games and 53 stolen bases. He is just the fourth Marlins player in Club history to record 50-plus multi-hit games and 50-plus stolen bases in a single season. The last Marlins player to do so was Hanley Ramirez in 2007 (62 multi-hit games/51 stolen bases). Ramirez, who also accomplished the feat in 2006 (55/51), is joined by Juan Pierre (twice; 2003, 60/65; 2005, 53/57) and Luis Castillo (2000, 55/62) as the only Marlins to record such seasons. Jose Altuve was the last Major Leaguer to accomplish the feat, posting 69 multi-hit games and stealing 56 bases last season. Gordon currently leads the National League in multi-hit games and leads the Majors with 23 games with three-plus hits. He is one shy from tying Hanley Ramirez s Club record of 24 games with three-or-more hits in 2009. Gordon also trails only Billy Hamilton in stolen bases (57) for the MLB-lead. GLOVEWORK ORANGE The Marlins committed two errors on Tuesday, marking their first game with two-plus fielding miscues this season since August 21 vs. Philadelphia, a span of 28 games. Miami owns a.987 fielding percentage on the year, good for third in the National League and sixth in the Majors. The Marlins trail Baltimore (.988), the Dodgers (.988), Detroit (.987), Houston (.987) and San Francisco (.987). The Club s 72 errors rank second in the NL and third in the Majors, trailing the Orioles (68) and Dodgers (71). FIGHTING FISH MARLINS VS.
