STANDARD FIRST AID WITH CPR LEVEL A OR C + AED This two days course is for individuals who require more comprehensive information on first aid and CPR for the workplace, educational institution or personal interest reasons. This course meets Canadian Labour Code and Ontario First Aid Regulation 1101 for workplaces with more than 5 employees. This interactive program includes CPR training for adults, infants and children, 2 persons CPR as well as automated external defibrillation (AED). This course emphasises: Safety rules Responding to Emergencies; and, Development of Leadership Skills Course content includes: Become a successful babysitter How to care for Infants, Toddler and School aged children; including (healthy meals, safe play, diapers, bedtime routines and much more). How to make the correct decisions when dealing with the behaviour of children Handling Emergencies Caring for a sick or injured child Prevention and basic First Aid Choking, CPR, Head Injuries, poisonings, Burns and much more. Time: 9:00 am 3:30 pm 17 Fri 9 Sat HOME ALONE A one-day program designed for 9 and 10 year old youth to help prepare them stay safe in times where they may find themselves alone for short periods of time. Phone calls and visitors, recognizing hazards, following home safety procedures, first aid basics, healthy eating, fire safety, and how to use 911 will be covered. St. John Ambulance believes that youth who are well prepared for the unexpected, will more confidently handle an emergency and be safer as a result. Each student will receive a Canada Safety Council Handbook and certificate. Time: 9:00 am 12:00 pm December Day 10 Sun Mental Health First Aid - Basic Mental Health Commission of Canada, Mental Health First Aid - Basic helps individuals to identify an individual in crisis due to a mental health condition and direct the individual to the correct form of assistance. First aid is not a replacement for going to your vet, but handling emergency situations properly right at the beginning can help you recognize problems early and act on them quickly. Each student will receive a St. John Ambulance Pet First Aid reference guide with over 50 pages of information and full colour illustrations. Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm ADVANCED MEDICAL FIRST RESPONDER The Advanced Medical First Responder courses are designed for those interested in taking a more active role in emergency situations and obtaining more advanced first aid skills.
