Once-in-a-lifetime moment: Maria Höfl-Riesch led the German Olympic team through the stadium during the opening ceremony waving the national flag. Unforgettable games. Being there is everything. This is even more true in the case of the olympic games, as the gathering of athletes from all around the world is a special experience. Felix Schoeller congratulates the german olympic team proudly for its great efforts and all the medals won. No doubt about it: these were Olympic Games of high emotional intensity. Highs and lows, successes and missed opportunities there was a fine line between winning and losing, as is so often the case in sport. What remains are the many magic moments enjoyed by the spectators from all nations. Even the venue was quite unique from a geographical perspective. There had never been Winter Olympics held in a subtropical climate like this before. The athletes and spectators from all around the world ensured a thrilling atmo sphere, the like of which can only be experienced at events of this magnitude. The Felix Schoeller Group was directly with the German Olympic team in the German House and recorded the magic moments of the German athletes on premium papers. Such as the spectacular opening from luger Felix Loch, who won Germany s first gold and sparked an exceptional gold rush for the German luge team. Or Maria Höfl-Riesch, who became the most successful German skier of all time at the Olympic Games with her victories. But we also remember stand-out moments that embodied the Olympic spirit of fair competition, like the shared downhill gold for the skiers Tina Maze and Dominique Gisin. They represent the many other participants who won not just medals, but also the hearts of the public, with their courage, skill and sportsmanship. See for yourself on the following pages how premium papers from the Felix Schoeller Group played a part in the magic moments of Sochi.
