Tunis Yearling Ewe Jackpot Show Organized by the NTSRI Show & Sale Committee
Welcome The Tunis Yearling Ewe Jackpot Show provides purebred Tunis breeders from across the country the opportunity to nominate bred and owned ewe lambs with the hope they will win the Jackpot Show in the following year. The show is an annual event held each year at the North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) in Louisville, Kentucky. Any purebred Tunis breeder can enter. The Goals of the Jackpot Show: Provide and additional showcase event of the Tunis breed Provide a monetary incentive to choose a Tunis ewe Increase interest in Tunis sheep Create a high value contest for purebred Tunis breeders Jackpot Show For a fee, Tunis breeders nominate ewe lambs they own and sustain entry fees for over a year, thereby making their Tunis yearling ewes eligible for participation in the Jackpot Show. Cash awards will be paid to the top 5 entries in the Jackpot Show. The total cash award to each place is dependent on breeder participation and vendor support. The Jackpot Show is a SEPARATE show from the youth and open shows at NAILE. Rules of Entry and Eligibility The event will be presented and managed by the NTSRI Show & Sale Committee. Ewe shall be born between the inclusive dates of September 1 and May 1 the year previous to the show. The four tooth rule applies and will be enforced. The Tunis breeder making the original nomination must own the dam(s) at time of birth of the ewe lamb(s) being nominated. The eligibility of any properly nominated and sustained ewe may be transferred to a new owner, provided the new owner stays current on all payments and abides by the rules. The new owner will show the ewe and receive all prizes. Nominated animals whose sustaining payments are not received by the due dates will be disqualified. Monies paid in will not be reimbursed.
Ewes that are eligible for the Jackpot Show must be entered in the NAILE open and/or youth shows in order to gain entry to the grounds for the Jackpot Show. The ewe s pedigree, breeder, and owner may be introduced as they enter the ring. Nomination Process Nominate as many ewe lambs as you like prior to August 15 (see nomination form in this brochure). One or all ewe lambs nominated can be shown in the Jackpot Show the following year if all fees are paid. As time progresses, the owner may choose to sustain entries on all or some of the lambs originally nominated. If the breeder chooses not to sustain entry on any ewe at any time, no money is refunded, and the ewe is not eligible to re-enter the contest. All fees must be paid on time. Reminders will be sent by emails prior to due dates. Ewes cannot be shown if fees are delinquent.
