INFORMATION General Information The 35th FIMS World Congress of Exercise and Sports Medicine will be organized in one of the most beautiful cities in the world: Rio de Janeiro! A city that invites to Physical Exercise and Sports! A great opportunity for scientific and professional exchange and to explore the rich flavors and the unique landscapes of the Wonderful City. After the Olympic Summer Games Rio-2016, Brazil s most special touristic destination is even more friendly to welcome the participants from all over the World! The Congress will last four days and will be structured as follows: Wednesday, 12 September Scientific Programme Evening: Opening Ceremony system, Barra da Tijuca district is located in the western region of Rio de Janeiro. Windsor Barra Hotel embodies a modern Convention Center which can host more than 2,500 participants. Exhibition The Congress programme will include a Scientific, Technical, and Commercial Exhibition in a 1,000 sqm area, available for stands where interested companies will be able to exhibit their state-of-the-art products to a very distinguished and differentiated public, very close to where the scientific presentations will be posted and discussed. Simultaneous translation Simultaneous translation will be provided from English to Portuguese. Thursday, 13 September Scientific Programme Friday, 14 September Scientific Programme Evening: Gala Dinner Saturday, 15 September Scientific Programme and Closing Ceremony (afternoon at 1:00 PM) Congress Venue The Congress will be held at Windsor Barra Hotel, considered the best hotel for events in Brazil. Conveniently located in front of the beach, near to most Olympic venues. Reachable from the International Airport and Downtown area by highways and subway Accomodation Windsor Barra Hotel will host all the FIMS Executive Committee and Standing Commissions members, as well as all the SBMEE guests. A wide range of hotels will be selected and will be available to participants in the areas nearby the Convention Center, at a walking distance. Social programme BLUMAR Official Tourism Agency will organize sightseeing tours for accompanying persons to the most beautiful and historical sites of Rio de Janeiro and its surrounding areas.
