Stackhouse, Ms J. Beriman Other Comments / Explanations: Race Results: Race 1 THANKYOU NICK TAYLOR MAIDEN PLATE - 1406 metres: At the start Now I m Sam was slow into stride (2L). Hillman s Jet raced keenly in the early stages then hung out rounding the home turn. Near the 900m Hillman s Jet had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Tuan when carried in by Up And Downs (J. McNeil) which shifted in to obtain cover. Stewards advised J. McNeil that they would expect him to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in future. J. McNeil rider of Up And Downs, which weakened noticeably from the 600m, stated that he felt that something may have gone amiss with his mount and for this reason he elected to ease the mare down in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination of Up And Downs revealed an irregular heart rhythm. Trainer G. Egan was notified that Up And Downs shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest
and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres. L. Currie, rider of Al s Fair Lady, which although having its first race start today performed below market expectations, stated that his mount travelled well in the early and middle stages however did not feel entirely comfortable on today s dead track conditions and weakened in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination noted that Al s Fair Lady had recovered from racing more slowly than expected. E. Marchant was severally reprimanded under the provisions of AR120(b) for failing to fulfil his riding engagement today on Al s Fair Lady due to being overweight. When reaching penalty Stewards took into account E. Marchant s excellent record in relation to this matter. Race 2 KING OF SPARKS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1406 metres: Art Teen and Markets bumped on jumping away. Nassi and Doolam Wonder were both slow to begin. Kenona Red jumped awkwardly the shifted outwards and bumped Wave Rider. Doolam Wonder raced ungenerously in the early stages and passing the 800m made contact with Markets. Super Fun raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. Wave Raider hung out from the 600m until the home straight. Approaching the 200m Nassi and Markets bumped on two occasions. Super Fun lost its near hind plate during the running of the event. J. Noonan rider of Super Fun, stated that his mount travelled very well during the early and middle stages however when placed under pressure in the home straight failed to respond to his riding and finished off the race in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. R. Maloney rider of Wave Rider, stated that his mount was inclined to hang out throughout the race proving very difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed no abnormalities. Ms J. Payne rider of Kenona Red, who was harmlessly dislodged on the way back to scales, was examined by the club s medical staff and cleared of any injuries. Race 3 GOULBURN MURRAY CREDIT UNION MAIDEN PLATE - 1206 metres: On arrival on course J. Duffy, rider of The Polmiester, was examined by the RV Doctor and passed fit to ride. Intruding jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. Rock Right On raced ungenerously in the early stages. Ebony Flight commenced to over-race passing the 1000m and then near the 700m, when being steadied away from The Polmiester (J. Duffy) which had shifted inwards, over reacted and had to be checked. J. Duffy was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR137(a) for permitting his mount to shift
ground when insufficiently clear of other runners. In reaching penalty Stewards took into consideration the racing manners of Ebony Flight. Coolamon over raced in the early stages. Near the 900m Complete Surprise shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in Rock Right On having to be checked. Approaching the 400m Coolamon had to be steadied off the heels of Ebony Flight, which was racing ungenerously, and in doing so shifted out onto Rock Right On, which in turn shifted out inconveniencing Complete Surprise. R. Maloney, rider of Rock Right On, stated that his mount raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages, proving very difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed no abnormalities. A post-race veterinary examination of The Polmiester, which performed below market expectations, revealed no abnormalities. A post-race veterinary examination of Intruding, winner of the race, revealed the gelding to be suffering from mild heat stress. Race 4 GMCU HOME LOANS NATIONAL PATIENT TRANSPORT RISING STARS 0-58 HANDICAP - 1606 metres: Resemblance jumped away very awkwardly unbalancing its rider. Empire Rock commenced awkwardly. Famous Finnish raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Passing the 1500m Couperin and Resemblance both raced in restricted room for a short distance to the inside of Decent Deal, which laid in slightly. Following this incident Couperin commenced to over-race for some distance. Rounding the 800m Famous Finish commenced to hung out placing its rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. On straightening Wine Shanty (R. Hurdle) shifted out when insufficiently clear of Landy, which was hampered and carried outwards resulting in Carrera Dinero being carried wider on the track. R. Hurdle was reprimanded under the provisions of AR137(a) for permitting his mount to shift ground when not sufficiently clear of other runners and notified that he must ensure that he is two lengths clear of other runners when shifting ground in future. Resemblance laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 5 GMCU CUSTOMER OWNED BANKING BM70 HANDICAP - 1406 metres: De Mars was slow to begin. Race 6 BILL SYKES MP BM64 HANDICAP - 1206 metres: Ginger Pop was slow to begin.
Le Rough began awkwardly and lost ground. Passing the 900m Beau Dash commenced to race keenly for a short distance. Passing the 250m Sweet Clementine was steadied and shifted to the outside of Skating For Gold to obtain clear running. Fremont Street hung out under pressure in the home straight. Over the final 50m Yuleba and Le Rough raced in restricted room to the outside of Providence. Race 7 BROKER FINANCE 0 58 HANDICAP - 2046 metres: Mr O Postrophe jumped away awkwardly and was then slow into stride. Sophie s Tryst jumped away awkwardly. Shortly after the start Well Primed and Mon Coeur had to be steadied when crowded between Gemma s Goneskiing and Lughaat, both of which shifted ground slightly. Passing the winning post on the first occasion Sophie s Tryst had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Bernzigova (J. Noonan), which shifted in when not quite clear. J. Noonan was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR137(a) for permitting his mount to shift ground when not sufficiently clear of other runners. When reaching penalty Stewards took into account J. Noonan did make an attempt to straighten his mount when the incident was occurring. Also passing the winning post on the first occasion The Tinker commenced to over-race for some distance. Lughaat race wide without cover in the early and middle stages before being allowed to stride forward to sit outside the leader near the 1200m. Over the final 100m Well Primed raced in restricted room to the outside of Lughaat. L. Currie, rider of Gemma s Goneskiing stated that in his opinion the filly failed to run out the 2046m distance of today s event. A post-race veterinary examination noted that the filly had recovered from racing more slowly than expected. Race 8 SPORTSBET.COM.AU TOP TOTE PLUS 0 58 HANDICAP - 1406 metres: Ginger s Gem jumped away awkwardly and was then slow into stride. Consoling Amy was slow to begin (2L). Consoling Amy laid in under pressure in the home straight. Hot Shoe Shuffln raced keenly in the early stages and after tiring from the 400m was eased down in the straight by its rider.
