Ruka, FIN 24th 26th November 2017 What s new The First Children`s Nordic which is the winner of the FIZ Snow Kidz Awards will take place in Ruka Nordic this year. Children`s Nordic is situated right next to the main gate. Children will have an opportunity to the test different sports: Cross Country, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined. There will be also a checkpoint for Biathlon. The goal is to involve families more and more by activities and testing possibilities. Venue Info In Ruka area there are nearly 173 kilometres of skiing tracks. Ruka Ski resort is one of the biggest ski centers in Finland; it includes 34 slopes and 21 skiing lifts. Besides Ruka Ski Resorts, the most famous tourist attraction is Oulanka National Park with 80 kilometres long hiking route Karhunkierros (Bear's Trail). During the route there are number of rapids, the most famous ones being Kiutaköngäs and Jyrävä. Karhunkierros and shorter trip trails are available also for snowshoeing and skiing in the winter. Kuusamo has about 16 000 habitants, but thanks to Ruka Ski Resort and popular nature sights, the services of the area match a lot larger town. There are nearly 50 restaurants varying from large hotel bars to cozy countryside restaurants, many of them offering local delicacies. Spa Kuusamon Tropiikki and Angry Birds Activity Park guarantee a successful vacation for families with children! When talking about well being, sauna is of course a big thing in Finland, combined with massage and other pampering treatments. Lillehammer (Norway) 1st 3rd December 2017 Venue Info The FIS Cross-Country World Cup competitions will take place in the Birkebeineren Cross- Country Ski Stadium. This was the Olympic venue for cross-country and biathlon events in Lillehammer Olympic Winter Games in February 1994 and during the Youth Olympic Winter Games in February 2016. The courses and stadium were upgraded and ready for the FIS Cross-Country World Cupin 2013. The Cross-Country Stadium is a venue that keeps the high international standard for both athletes, public and media. The venue is also being used, in addition to the FIS World Cup events, for the Birkebeinerrennet CC event, Inga-Låmi CC Ladies event as well as many other national and international events each winter. About Lillehammer Lillehammer is located in the eastern part of Norway, 180 km from Oslo. The distance from Oslo Airport Gardermoen is about 150 km. Lillehammer is located at the northern shore of Norway's largest lake, Mjøsa. The population is approximately 27 000. The city is a commercial, administrative, culture and educational centre. Nordic House: In December 2016 the «Biathlon Arena Lenzerheide» has been extended with the substantial Nordic House. Besides a Bistro, a sports shop and lockers for the public Nordic Ski Centre, it also contains a professional athletic room, a seminar room and accommodations for 60 people in flexibly shared rooms. Please note: The Media Center is located at the new Nordic House Snowfactory: In October 2016 the so-called Snowfactory at the «Biathlon Arena Lenzerheide» was installed. This enables a production also at temperatures below zero without chemical additives. No snow in the proper sense is produced, but instead small dry ice flakes. Due to the mechanical preparation the quality of spring snow is achieved. Lenzerheide is for the 3 rd time a Tour de Ski stage, after January 2016 again as start stage with 3 competition days Venue Info The holiday region of Lenzerheide offers 360 suntrap and many opportunities for an active day and relaxation. Lenzerheide offers 56 km of cross-country skiing trails and is declared by Loipen Schweiz as one of the best cross-country skiing regions in Switzerland. Due to the so-called Snowfactory the cross-country season starts already on Saturday, 28 th October 2017. At the Biathlon Arena Lenzerheide in Lantsch/Lenz (Tour de Ski venue) a 1.5 to 2.0 km long stadium lap will be prepared. The ski resort Arosa Lenzerheide offers 225 km of ski slopes and is one of the largest ski region in Grisons and one of the top 10 ski resorts in Switzerland.

Oberstdorf, GER 3 rd 4 th January 2018 New facts about the venue Oberstdorf has a new general organizer The 42- year old Florian Stern from Fischen im Allgäu is the new managing director of the Skisport und Veranstaltungs GmbH (SVG) in Oberstdorf since 1st of July 2017. He will be organizing the big events in Oberstdorf together with his co-managing director Christian Rapp, his permanent employees as well as many volunteers. Next winter, the main events will be the Four Hills Tournament, the Tour de Ski of the cross country athletes, the FIS Ski Flying World Championships 2018 as well as the final competition of the Ladies ski-jumping World Cup. Oberstdorf is already excited about the terrific flight show with the best ski flying athletes of the world. Flying is one of the oldest dreams of the human beings. Oberstdorf will make the dream of flying come true for participants and visitors with the FIS Ski Flying World Championships from the 18th to the 21st January 2018. Where winter sport athletes and mountain lovers are at home is where the Ski Flying World Championship 2018 will be as a guest in order to honor the Kings of the skies. Nordic World Championships 2021: everyone is looking forward to a winter fairytale Just in time for the Nordic Ski-World Championships 2021, Oberstdorf is presenting its bright new sport facilities. The venues Schattenberg and the cross country stadium Ried will be optimized to the latest standards within the planning for the World Championships. In order to provide this, Oberstdorf has an ambitious investment package. A modern cross country center will be generated at the Tour de Ski venue. Uros Ponikvar (Slovenia), an excellent course designer, could be won for the re-homologation of the cross country stadium. Launch of a new men sprint course Already in 2016 the new sprint course got a homologation by Hermod Bjørkestøl. Due to difficult snow situation during the Tour de Ski 2016 we could not use the new course. In 2018 the world's best sprinters will have one of the most difficult tracks in the whole World Cup, with three challenging climbs in classique technique. The local train takes you straight to the Station Dresden Neustadt, from where it is a 10min walk to the media hotel. Planica, SLO 20 th 21 st January, 2018 New facts about the venue Planica is hosting Cross-Country World Cup event for the second time in two years. Nordic Center, which opened in December 2015 is fully operational and is hosting professional and recreational athletes all year round.
