Results Summary Tank Jupiter Shell inspection Cleanliness The external surfaces had been cleaned to a sufficient standard to allow a meaningful inspection to take place. Scorpion B-Scan Results See attached Scorpion B-scan analysis results for detail. On scan 3 course 4 no ultrasonic signals were available between 200mm to 1700mm Observations N/A. UT thickness measurements Results See attached data sheets for recorded thickness. Observations N/A Inspection carried out by: Report authorised by: Dated 2
B- Scan Inspection Results Equipment used B-Scan results Restrictions Observations The inspection was carried out using:- Silverwing (UK) Ltd Scorpion B-Scan Serial no: xxxxx D-Scan 705 Serial no: xxxx The B Scan data will be saved on a CD, the data will be analysed by Silverwing UK Ltd so that the minimu m plate thickn ess will be recorded and presente d as a hard copy. The width of each B-Scan is approximately 5mm. All lower course scans will have an existing offset of 340mm due to the Scorpion B-Scan crawler s geometry. This area will be covered by a manual inspection. The B- Scan inspect ion detected n o ultrasonic signals that were a nalysed as in excess of 20% loss of the nominal plate thickness. All scan s u nless stated otherwise will be ta ken in an ascending order. The results from the B-Scan inspection are presented as follows: Shell plate layout and numbering system Electronic report The shell plate layout give the location and numbering of the B-Scans, the location of the manways, stairs, any external pip ework and where available the or ientation and dimensions of the plates. Courses are numbere d from the bottom u pwards. Plates are numbered anti-clo ckwise relative to an agreed reference point. A CD is attached to this report which contains the following information: A PDF document containing the report.
Scorpion B-Scan Analysis Summary The Ultrasonic B-scans recorded during the survey have been analysed and the minimum wall thickness for each scan is shown below. Ultrasonic Thickness Measurements Inspection: Shell Plate Thickness Measurements Tank ID: Tank 234 Location: Hillside Date: June 2012 Ultrasonic thickness measurements were taken at 4 reference points e qually spaced around the circumference of the ta nk. 5 ultra sonic thickne ss measure ments were taken per course at each of the 4 reference points. Minimum a nd maxi mum thickness was taken per course. Measurement 1 was taken 100mm externally from the bottom of the course plates. Measurement 2 was taken 400mm externally from the bottom of the course plate. Measurement 3 was taken externally at the centre of the course plate. Measurement 4 was taken externally 400mm from the top of course plate. Measurement 5 was taken 100mm from the top of the course plate. See attached drawings for position of the reference points.
