Purpose: It shall be the purpose of GLAMFA to promote and uphold team spirit for those we encounter, to develop good sportsmanship by example, to support good relations in the community and between teams and squads during events. We will foster an environment that encourages good citizenship, character, and personal growth. Team Squad Requirements: Spirit Squad Consists of 5, 6, & 7 year olds Goal is to teach basics of cheerleading including, but not limited to: Voice Projection, Teamwork, Proper Arm Techniques, Safety No building above waist level, elevator preps, shoulder sits are acceptable Light tumbling is allowed based on individual cheerleader abilities Junior Varsity Squad (JV Squad) Consists of 8, & 9 year olds Goal is to build on what was learned as a member of the D-Squad and introduce to the requirements and dedication necessary to cheer on the junior level No building above shoulder level, elevator preps, shoulder sits are acceptable at this level, one foot must be in contact with base at all times (except during cradle) Tumbling is allowed based on individual cheerleader abilities Varsity Squad Consists of 10, 11 & 12 year olds Goal is to challenge individuals to perform to their best ability while having fun and to learn the importance of teamwork Stunting is based on the ability and skill at this level. No liberties are allowed at the extended level. Coach Responsibilities: Practices: Games: Head Coaches: Responsible for assistance and squads Responsible for discipline at all times Will set an example of good character with their actions at all times Selecting Assistant Coaches, with approval of GLAMFA Board of Directors Assistant Coaches: Will set an example of good character with their actions at all times Assist with development of cheerleaders as outlines above Assist Head Coach with discipline and supervision as needed Junior Coaches: Will be a former midget cheerleader, competitive cheerleader, or a current Junior or Senior High School Cheerleader Will be a role model for the cheerleaders they interact with Encourage and demonstrated proper technique related to cheerleading. This includes, but is not limited to: Voice Projection, Arm Drills, Spirit, Stunting, Tumbling Practices will take place during the months of July & August, at the discretions of coaches, GLAMFA, and facility. All cheerleaders are expected to attend all practices. Attendance will always be taken. o In the event that a cheerleader must miss practice, please fill out a Conflict Schedule o for, and let your coach know as soon as possible. If a cheerleader misses more than 3 practices, there will be a meeting set up by the respective coach to discuss their placement on the team. We will practice in the rain. Please have your rain gear handy. Be kind. Absolutely, no personal conflicts or bullying will be tolerated. Cheerleaders will not stunt or tumble without Head or Assistant Coaches present. Cheerleaders are not permitted to use cell phones or chew gum during any practice. Bring lots of water!!! All cheerleaders must be at every game. Time of arrival will be determined by the respective coach. Please be dressed and ready to cheer. Please have cheerleaders use the restroom before warmup begins. Only cheerleader s guardians may take them from a game. Cheerleaders will not leave a game at ANY TIME for ANY REASON other than injury or illness. Excessive absence will result in the holding of any trophies or awards at the end of the year Banquet. All playoff games are a part of the season and attendance is required. No friends or family members are permitted on the track or field at any time.

Injury: In the event that an injury occurs, your child must bring a doctor s excuse stating that they are permitted to return to GLAMFA activities, are injury-free, and able to stunt and tumble. We do not have access to a Defibrillator. All squads are equipped with general First Aid Kits. Appearance: For safety reasons, NO JEWELRY will be permitted during practice or games If ears are newly pierced and earring are unable to be removed, the earrings must be covered with Band-Aids prior to arrival of practice or games. Hair is to be neatly pulled back from face for practice and games. Cheerleaders must wear the selected bow to every game facing forward at the top of the head. Keep fingernails at an active length. No gum, candy, or food while cheering. All cheerleaders will be in uniform at games. Cheer shoes are to be kept clean. Uniforms and Gear: (All cheerleaders must bring ALL pieces of their uniform to every game!) Cheerleaders must wear the following to ALL Games: Uniform Vest Uniform Skirt Black Spankies Black Sports Bra or Black Tank Top Hair Bow (Orange/Black- September, Pink-October) Clean, All White Cheer Shoes White, no-show Socks Cheerleaders must bring the following to ALL Games: Black Cheer Bag for Gear Pom-Poms (Orange/Black- September, Pink-October) Water Bottle(s) Rain Coat Wind-suits White Long Sleeve Shirt Black Gloves (Pink are permitted during October) Black Ear-Warmers/Headbands (Pink are permitted in October) You will be provided: Uniform Vest Pom Poms Uniform Skirt Uniforms are given to all cheerleaders to use for the season. The uniforms are not to be altered in any way. Please Hand Wash Only, and lay flat to dry. If your uniform is not returned in the condition it was given to you, there will be a $100.00 fee to replace it.

You must purchase: Team Bow (GLAMFA Specific) Pink Bow (GLAMFA Specific) Black Spankies All White Cheer Shoes White no-show Socks Black Sports Bra or Black Tank Top Wind Suit- Jackets & Pants* (GLAMFA Specific) White Long Sleeve Shirt Raincoat Black Cheer Bag (GLAMFA Specific) Black Gloves Black Ear-Warmers/Headband (GLAMFA Optional) *Spirit Squad is NOT required to purchase a wind suit. Black Leggings and a plain black sweatshirt will be acceptable. All other squads must purchase these items. Wind Suits must be current and match the 2017 season. Payment must be made at the time of order. Checks are payable to: LEVEL ONE GRAPHICS. Conduct: Squad members are required to maintain and uphold the reputation of GLAMFA through their own conduct and squad spirit. Members are required to be courteous, polite, friendly, and have a smile for everybody. All cheers/chants shall be of a positive and sportsmanlike manner. Members will make every attempt to ignore or dissuade negative responses at vents and not be involved in negative actions themselves. There will be NO PROFANITY tolerated from ANYBODY. If, at any time, there is a conflict, idea, or concern, please do not hesitate to talk to your coaches, or with your Cheer VP, Samantha Cook. Discipline: It is squad policy that disciplinary action will be involved as a last resort. Suspension from games and/or events may occur for the following (but not limited to) reasons: Volunteer Requirements: Excessive Absence or Tardiness Failure to Cooperate with Coaches or other Squad Members Others reasons the Coach/GLAMFA deem necessary A Check, Cash, or Money Order of $100.00 will be kept until all volunteer duties are fulfilled. Checks will be returned at the end of the season. Three (3) Volunteer Sessions are required for 1 child in the organization. -One (1) additional Session required per additional child. Please sign up for your volunteer times ASAP to ensure date and time. Coaching is accounted for 2 volunteer sessions. All other volunteers are counted as 1 session. Ex: 1 full Game in Concession Stand 50/50 Seller for Full Game Team Mom Volunteer Football Sticks for Full Game Entry Gate for Full Game Absolutely no personal items (purses, bags, wallets, etc.) are permitted in the concession stands.
