Thank You Notes Reminder If you have not already done so, please take the time to write and send thank-you notes to your trophy and award sponsors, buyers, and to Gail Pickworth for donating his time and auctioneer service to the Junior Fair sales. Trophies and awards have attached labels or letters with donor information. The labels are usually on the bottom of the trophy. Thank-you notes are simple to do, yet the effects are great! Notes really can make a difference as to whether a person or business supports 4-H and the Erie County fair in the future. Sale checks will not be released until thank-you notes are submitted. If you have not yet turned in thank-you notes for your buyers, you must drop off stamped and addressed thank-you notes to the Extension Office ASAP! You will not receive your sale check until all of your thank-you notes have been submitted to the Extension Office. Farm Science Review - September 16-18 The Farm Science Review is Ohio State University s premier agricultural show. You can learn more about this year s Farm Science Review at: <http://fsr.osu.edu> Advanced tickets can be purchased for $7.00 each at the Extension Office. These tickets must be purchased before September 15 th. Gate tickets will be $10.00. Ages 5 and under are free. OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION Animal & Me Show Huge Success Thanks to Many This year Erie County Fair held its second annual Animal & Me show which allowed children with special needs, plus a few others, to show an animal at the fair. The youth signed up ahead of time with a wish list of animals that they wanted to show. 4-H and FFA exhibitors brought their animals to the show and shared them with another youth. Thanks so much to the following youth members for sharing their animals and their self: Megan Brandich, Easter Davis, Breanna Ensley, Claire Findley, Kamry Gravenhorst, Kaycee Gravenhorst, Maverick Keller, Sammy Lipert, Katherine Otto; Joscelyn Turner, Julie Wagner, Savannah Wells, and Emma Wensink. Thank you to our judges for the event, Olivia Bilger. All the participants received a trophy for the wonderful job they did showing their animals. The trophies were donated by the Schaeffer (Chris & Suzie) sisters while Downing Billiard & Awards provided the gold plates and engraving for the trophies. A wonderful time was had by all the participants and there are already plans underway for the 2015 Animal & Me Show. Please consider participating or donating to the event next year.
