MIAMI STARTER RHP Dan Haren (4-1, 2.68) LOS ANGELES STARTER TBA TOMORROW S BROADCAST INFO FS Florida WINZ * WAQI^ * - English Flagship (940AM) ^ - Spanish Flagship (710AM) FISH BITES The Marlins continue a 10-game road trip with the first of three against the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight at 10:10 p.m. ET. Tom Koehler is making his fourth career start and appearance against the Dodgers, going 1-2 with a 3.45 ERA. He is being opposed by Zack Greinke, who in six career games (five starts) against the Fish has gone 3-0 with a 3.97 ERA. Miami entered this road trip completing its second-best nine-game homestand in Club history, going 7-2 against Washington (3-0), the Mets (2-1) and Philadelphia (2-1). The Marlins current road swing started with the Fish dropping two of three to the Washington Nationals and splitting a four-game set with the San Francisco Giants. Following this series, the Marlins will return to South Florida to start a 10-game homestand against the Atlanta Braves (May 15-17), Arizona Diamondbacks (May 18-21) and Baltimore Orioles (May 22-24). VS. THE DODGERS Miami and Los Angeles split the 2014 series, 3-3, with Miami dropping two of three at Chavez Ravine. Since 2007, the Fish have a 13-12 edge in LA, but trail the all-time series in LA, 36-46, as well as the all-time overall series, 77-92. Since 2010, Giancarlo Stanton owns the fourth-highest average against the Dodgers among MLB hitters with a.333 mark (31x93), while his nine home runs are the most among players outside of the NL West. YESTERDAY The Marlins carried a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning, but fell to the San Francisco Giants, 3-2. Miami started the scoring in the fourth inning when Michael Morse drove in Christian Yelich with a double to center field. After the Giants evened the score at 1-1 in the sixth, pinch-hitter Justin Bour singled to left with one out and moved to third on a double by Dee Gordon. Donovan Solano entered as a pinch-runner for Bour and scored later on a wild pitch to put the Fish up 2-1. Steve Cishek entered in the ninth and struck out the first batter, but consecutive hits and an intentional walk loaded the bases. After another strikeout, Matt Duffy drove in the game-winning run with a single to left field. Gordon and Morse led Miami s offense with two hits each. Mat Latos started for the Marlins and held the Giants to one run on seven hits, while walking none and striking out five over 7.0 innings. FLYING FISH Despite yesterday s loss, the Marlins have gone 12-6 over their last 18 games since April 22, good for the second-best winning percentage in the National League (tied for fourth in MLB with Houston). The Cardinals lead the NL with a.737 mark (14-5) over that span, with the Dodgers and Giants tied for third at.647 (11-6), followed by the Nationals (.556/10-8). NEW FACE Dee Gordon has started his Marlins tenure with a.439 batting average (54x123) through the first 29 games. According to Stats LLC, it is the second highest batting average entering May 11 by a player joining a new team since 1914 (min. 75 PA). Carl Reynolds posted the best mark, batting.468 (37x79) for Boston in 1934. Showboat Fisher s.426 average in 1930 for St. Louis rank third, followed by Marty Cordova s.420 average for Cleveland in 2001. HITS KEEP COMING Dee Gordon is just the third player since 1914 to record as many as 54 hits through his first 29 games played in a season. Hammerin Hank Aaron recorded the most hits through his first 29 games to start a season, doing so in 1959, and Johnny Frederick has the second-most with 55 to start his 1930 campaign. See complete list, courtesy of Stats LLC, at right. GORDON S FLASHY STYLE Dee Gordon leads the Majors with his.439 average and 54 hits.
