After makng rg repars, ran n hole as requested to run gelled seawater at 55-6 vscosty and all surface pts full wth 2 vscosty mud. Drlled to 58 m and then made rg repars, resumed drllng to 75 m. Solds equpments was run at all tmes and mud was dluted heavly wth seawater. The hole was then drlled to 85 m and 338 bbls of.35 SG was spotted and loggng was carred out wth no problems. The hole was then dsplaced to seawater wth returns saved. When the complete hole was flled wth seawater the well was observed for 3 mnutes. The hole was then dsplaced wth 365 bbls of mud (.8 SG) and then rser was pulled. The 4 3/4" plot hole was opened to 26" from 47 m to 8 m wth 25 bbls plls of hvs mud spotted on each connecton. A ledge was washed and reamed at 55 m, otherwse no hole problems. Surface pts were kept full wth.35 SG mud for dsplacement before casng. The hole was then swept clean and a wper trp made. Whle runnng n the hole had to ream from 784 m to bottom. The hole was then flled wth 85 bbls.35 SG, vscous mud. 2" casng was run but had to shut down due to weather. 5 bbls of CaCl2 water was mxed for the cement job. The hole was agan flled wth seawater and tght hole was found at 794 m. The hole was then cleaned at 8 m and dsplaced agan to.35 SG vscous mud. The 5 bbls of CaCl2 water was dumped and mxed agan n order to have space for vscous mud. 2" casng was then run and cemented.

26" RECOMMENDATONS HOLE Ths secton was drlled wth no major problems except for mechancal and weather mshaps causng an excess of mud to be mxed n order to keep the hole n shape.

l l l l SUMMARY OF EVENTS OPERATOR: A/S NORSKE SHELL WELL NO. 3/2-7 /2" HOLE/ 3 3/8" CASNG NTERVAL A total of 55 bbls of KCl/Polymer mud were mxed at a weght of.3 SG pror to drllng out the 2" casng shoe. Cement n the casng was drlled out to wthn l m of the shoe wth seawater, and the hole then dsplaced to mud wth no cement contamnaton. After drllng the shoe and cleanng out the 26" rat hole from 799 m to 8 m, a 7 /2" hole was drlled from 8 m to 82 m and a leak off test was taken. Ths gave an equvalent break down at.49 SG. Drllng then contnued ahead to the casng pont of 535 m, over a perod of 3 /2 days and a bt change at 372 m. The secton from m to m approx. was drlled at a slower ROP ( m/hr) due to reduced avalable pump pressure wth one rg pump down and the use of the Hallburton pump requred. Trps were made for surveys approx. each 5 m and tght hole was experenced wth some swabbng when POOH on each new secton but RH was no problem and a second trp through the secton produced no overpull each tme. The KCl/Polymer system was run wth a K + of approx. 4 to 42 ppb whch was found necessary together wth polymer (Ancopol) addtons (3/4 ppb) for adequate nhbton of clays, otherwse some hydraton of cuttngs was notceable. Mud weght n the secton was ntally.3 SG and rose to.35 SG by T.D. and gave good stablty. Schlumberger logs were then run after a clean out trp and the 3 3/8" casng was run and cemented wth shoe at 525 m. Returns were lost (total approx. 3 bbls) durng the cement dsplacement. All surface mud system was then dumped and pts cleaned out pror to mxng new mud system for the 2 /4" secton.

RECOMMENDATONS 7 /2" SECTON t was felt that use of.3 SG ntally, ncreasng to.35 SG at TD resulted n much better hole stablty than prevous wells where.26 SG was started wth and ncreased to.35 SG after some unstable hole had been encountered. Therefore X C J. C.L.W.. *^ t J_ *- s JLO recommended J- ^*~ WllUU^llVl^lU to -W contnue V~*w'll»--LlUC use UO< of.3 SG as ntal weght to drll out 2" casng.

SUMMARY OF EVENTS OPERATOR: A/S NORSKE SHELL WELL NO. 3/2-2 /4" HOLE/ 9 5/8" CASNG NTERVAL After all pts were cleaned out a total of 83 bbls of CaClo brne at.2 + SG was taken onboard to mx, after dluton wth drll water, an ntal batch total of 395 bbls of "non-damagng" chalk mud (CaCl2/CaC3/Polymer). The composton of ths mud was.25 -.3 ppb Enorflo-S (a substtute for XC-Polymer n ths type of system) and /2 ppb HEC and 2 ppb N-4 CaCC>3 and 2 ppb N-5 CaCO3 and 2 ppb N-5 CaCC>3. These values were used after a seres of plot tests had been run both wth seawater and drll water dlutons of orgnal CaCl2 brne receved. After drllng out cement to 3 3/8" shoe, and crculatng the hole clean, the hole was dsplaced wth the new mud and drllng contnued to 536 m where a leak off test was taken, gvng an equvalent break down at.5 SG. Drllng ahead contnued to 555 m where an ROP drll break was crculated out gvng sands and t was decded to start corng the Jurassc reservor. An ntal run of 3 ft core barrel was made for corng 555 m to 564 m, then a 6 ft barrel was run for a furhter 4 cores to depth of 629 m where shows were then neglgable. Reamng out of the cored secton was then carred out (555 m to 629 m) and then 2 /4" hole drlled to 735 m. A further total of 64 bbls of new mud was mxed after dsplacng the hole and treatments whle corng and drllng were only made for mantenance of HEC concentraton and flud loss control and CaCO3 levels and mnmal Caustc for ph mantenance.

SUMMARY OF EVENTS OPERATOR: A/S NORSKE SHELL WELL NO. 3/2-?. /4" HOLE/ 9 5/ft" CASNG NTERVALcont' d As drlled clays were pcked up the flud loss dropped greatly from 38 cc down to approx. 5 cc wth ppb MET. Mud weght rose from.5 to.6+ SG by the end of the secton. The only solds control used was shaker wth screens 2, due to non possble use of 6 hydrocyclone equpment whch would have throuwn out too great an amount of CaCO3. The man factor for runnng the system was to have clean fltrate to decrease any skn damage to reservor pror to testng. The mxng of the system was relatvely easy wth Enorflo-S comng nto soluton wth mnmal shear requred as wth the HEC - but order of addton was found to be vtal from plot tests, requrng Enorflo-S mxng frst otherwse HEC would not shear n and form "fsh eyes". Consderable tme was requred though for mxng of CaCO3 sacks due to the hgh contamnaton necessary to gve a.5 SG mud weght. The only real problem durng drllng usage seemed to be "seepage" losses when turnng on pumps after each connecton. Total losses durng drllng were approx. bbls. An extensve loggng program was then carred out for a perod of 3 days when runnng n the hole 9 m of fll was found. The hole was crculated clean and a CST was run. After runnng n the hole m of fll was found and reamed to 735 m and then drllng 2 /4" hole to 744 m T.D. The hole was crulated clean and 9 5/8" casng was then run and cemented.

RECOMMENDATONS 2 /4" HOLE The only recommendaton to be made would be to keep a small amount of Mca n the mud to stop seepage losses to the formaton, although ths may not be compatable wth the use of a non-damagng chalk mud. Also as ponted out before the order of mxng should be carefully watched.e. Enerflo-S should be mxed frst n order to prevent fsh eyes from the HEC.
