1 Product Description 1.1 Function When the directional control valve is not active, the main consumer is in operation. When it is activated, the additional consumer can be operated. The switching is carried out hydraulically or electrically. In the electrical model, the control pressure needed for the switching process is taken from one of the high pressure inlet lines so that no additional pilot control pressure needs to be provided. The valves are not leakage-free. Pressure protection for the additional function must be installed externally. The valves 2S, 2M & 2L are available in two versions: Directional control valve 6/3 with center position, directional control valve 6/2 without center position. In version 6/3 the center position is taken, when both inlet lines (1, 2) are pressureless (see circuit diagram 2 and 6). In this state all inputs and outputs are locked against each other. In the versions with preferred position (6/2), (see circuit diagram 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7), the entry lines 1 and 2 are directly connected with the connections 3 and 4 or with the connections 5 and 6. In the initial position of these versions the consumer is protected by means of the pressure valves of the main control valve in the machine. The 6/2 directional valve function is also available in a model with a transfer position with negative overlap. During the switching process, the connections 1, 3, 5 and 2, 4, 6 are connected for a short period of time. The switching from one consumer with low pressure to a consumer with tensioned pressure can lead to a decompression shock, which can be reduced by the negatively covered transfer position. D62-2D variant: In non-activated state the outlet ports 3 and 4 are connected to the inlet ports 1 and 2. In activated state the outlet ports 5 and 6 are connected to the inlet ports 1 and 2. When using the version with tank relief the outlet ports 5 and 6 are connected to the tank port in the non activated state and outlet ports 3 and 4 are connected to the tank port in activated state. Only small cross-sections are released here so that a pressure increase via leaks on both connections is prevents but a floating position is not realized. The valve is also suitable for performing functional enhancements in the pilot control circuit. Example: The proportional pilot control function of a joystick is assigned to a different function through switching. The tank-relieved version then ensures that no unintended movements occur on the not activated function. Connections: 1, 2 From the main control unit 3, 5 Consumer 1 4, 6 Consumer 2 7 Pump 8 Main Valve 9 Directional Control Valve 10 Consumer 1 11 Consumer 2 VSTA,VSTB Hydraulic piloting ports L Leak oil (tank) closed. In the case of the electrically switched valves, the leak oil connection (L) only needs to be connected to leak oil if it cannot be ensured that an input connection (1 or 2) has a maximum pressure at the tank pressure level. 1.2 Properties High switch reliability Simple installation between main control valve and two consumers Low pressure loss Subject to Changes Version: D62_00_05E.doc 2/9

4.5 Characteristic 5: Actuation The valve can be actuated electrically or hydraulically (only 2S, 2M, 2L). The power supply for the electrical variant is done with an angle plug connection ISO 4400 or with a Junior Timer plug in 12 or 24 volt models In the hydraulically actuated version, actuation is via a G ¼ "(ISO 1179-1) connectionthe minimum switching pressure for the hydraulically operated valve is 5 bar. The maximum switching pressure must not exceed 350 bar. 4.6 Characteristic 7: Preferred position The valve is available in four versions. middle position: all connections locked against each other, the functionality corresponds with a 6/3 directional valve. This model should be selected when both connected consumers in the nonactuated position should remain in their position. It should be noted that a pressure protection may need to be installed for both consumers in the case of exterior loads. preferred position 1-3 & 2-4, the unswitched valve is in a preferred position, the functionality corresponds with a 6/2 directional valve. Auch hier ist bei beiden angeschlossenen Verbrauchern zu kontrollieren, ob bei äußeren Lasten eine It should also be checked here for both connected consumers whether a pressure protection is available in case of exterior loads. 5 Installation 5.1 General remarks All installation and safety information from the construction machine manufacturer are to be observed. Only technically permitted changes are to be made on the construction machine. The user must ensure that the device is suitable for the respective application. Application exclusively for the range of application specified by the manufacturer. Before installation or dismantling, the hydraulic system is to be depressurized. Settings are to be made by qualified personnel only. Opening is only to be performed with the approval of the manufacturer, otherwise the warranty is invalidated. No responsibility is taken for the correctness of these connection recommendations, the functionality and the technical details of the construction machine must be checked. In the case of the electrically switched valves, the leak oil connection (L) only needs to be connected to leak oil if it cannot be ensured that an input connection (1 or 2) has a maximum pressure at the tank pressure level. Safety note: In order to protect the internal pilot shuttle valve, the input pressures in connections 1 and 2 must not suddenly invers (e.g. by using a switched 4/2 or 4/3 directional valve in the input lines). 5.2 Connection recommendations 1 Pump 2 Main control valve 3 Directional valve S6/2 4 Consumer 1 5 Consumer 2 6 Hydraulic pilot control NOTE: The included connection recommendations are not guaranteed. The functionality and the technical specifications of the construction machine must be checked. It must be ensured that the construction machine is suitable in terms of technology and safety for the operation of the attachment. 5.3 Installation - space Ensure that the support element is level. Ensure that the valve is not bent during installation. Ensure that there is sufficient free space for setting and installation work. CAUTION! Hydraulic hoses must not come into contact with the directional control valve as they will suffer thermal damage.
