The Varsity Tennis team had a strong win this past Monday at Homewood-Flossmoor in a 7-0 sweep. Seniors Mira Amin and Emily Otto did a great job in helping pull to a convincing victory. This Friday and Saturday, Hinsdale Central is hosting the varsity conference tournament so please come out and support your defending state champion Red Devils Tennis! The Boys Varsity Golf team was the Regional Champion at The Links of Carillon on Tuesday! Individually Brendan O Reilly (69) placed 1st and Josh Lundmark placed 2nd overall. Matt Wingren, Gabe Larson, Mac McClear and Jack Hoiberg rounded out the team. The Varsity Soccer team continues to build towards the end of the year with the recent IHSA seeds now finalized. The #3 seed Red Devils will open up hosting the IHSA Regional on Tue. Oct. 18 with a 4:30pm first kick. Until then the Red Devils have games coming up against Fenton and Addison Trail. Go Devils! After tough losses against LT last week and York on Monday, the JV Soccer team looks to bounce back with a home game against Addison Trail on Friday. Their Senior Day match will be at 1pm on Dickinson Field this Saturday against Fenton High School - Come out to support your JV Red Devils! Going into the last couple weeks of the season, the Sophomore boys are 9 2 2. They have made huge strides this year, improving each and every game and practice. They look forward to close the season by getting victories in their last two games (Fenton, and Addison Trail), all of which will be tough competitors. The Frosh A Red Devils are on a roll of wins since their only loss of the season back on Sept. 19. Last Wednesday, the Red Devils won 3-1 in their game against Oak Park-River Forest. On Sept. 29, they won a tough game against conference rival Lyons Township, 1-0. On Monday, the Red Devils dominated York in a 3-0 victory. The team is approaching each game with a competitive attitude, and the boys are trying to maintain Hinsdale Central's tradition as a winning high school soccer program in their conference and beyond. The

Frosh B Red Devils continue to play and work at a high level, looking forward to finishing the season in the Hinsdale Central Freshman Shootout. The Red Devils Varsity Volleyball team beat Wheaton-Warrenville South High School last Wednesday to improve its record to 9-11. Hinsdale was led by Maggie Wilson (5 kills, 4 digs), Gillian Lail (4 kills) and Anna Bryjak (4 kills). Lindsay Knutson (10 assists, 2 aces) and Emily Knutson (8 assists, 1 ace) helped run the offense and provided sparks from the service line. After closing out the first game 25-19, the Devils got off to a strong start in game two and won easily 25-15. All levels are in action this weekend as Freshmen host a quad on Saturday, Sophomores compete in the Barrington tournament and Varsity competes in the St. Charles East Invite. Next week, the Red Devils look forward to playing at Glenbard West on Tuesday and will celebrate Senior Night at home on Thursday against Downers Grove South. They look forward to celebrating the contributions and commitments of all their seniors next week! The Varsity Hockey team had a busy homecoming week winning one game and losing two. They played Deerfield last Wednesday evening and won decisively 7-2. The Red Devils next faced a strong Glenbard team and lost 7-0. On Sunday, the team played Lake Park and lost 4-2. Goals were scored by Alek Bogdonoff and Sam Stapleton with assists by Lucian DiPofi, Chris Stella, Adam Griffith and Matt D'Aprile. The team's annual Homecoming Parade was rained out but not before the team got a photo on their float. Thanks to Ken Turrentine and Kirk Purcell for their help with this year s hockey floats. The Red Devils next home games are against Lyons Township on Friday at Darien at 9:30pm and Naperville North at 9:30pm on Saturday. Come out and show your hockey spirit and fill the stands against cross town rival LT Friday night. It was a great Homecoming weekend for Central s JV Hockey team, as the boys earned two more wins, and now stand at 3-0. Last Friday night, they defeated Glenbard 3-2 in a hard fought battle. Alex Dimitriou scored in the first period on a diving rebound with assists from Cole Vinci and Hayden Woodward. Glenbard tied it up 1-1 in period 2, but the Devils responded with a goal from Robert Cremin, sniped from the blue line with assists from Spencer Martin and Hayden Woodward. Then it was Nick Kubycheck s turn as he scored with an assist from James Shrader late in Period 3, increasing the Devil s lead to 3-1. Glenbard tried to rally with a late period 3 goal but they could not overcome the Devil s momentum, or the tight goaltending of Rhett Bergevin. Bergevin had 31 saves for the night, severely hampering Glenbard s offense. The Devils then took on Lake Park High School on Sunday evening at the Addison Ice Rink, bringing home the second win of the weekend. Weston Ball was solid in net and earned the first shut out of the season for the Red Devils, as they handily defeated Lake Park 5-0. Spencer Martin began the offensive drive with a goal early in period 1, with assists from Hayden Woodward and Jake Ognibene. Casey Watts followed up with a goal of his own, a deflection off the goaltender and into the net. The Devils decided to finish things up early in the third period. Both Hayden Woodward and Matthew Montroy were able to find the net, posting goals just 22

seconds apart, deflating Lake Park s defense. Their goals were assisted by Robert Cremin and Ryan Kelly. Matthew Montroy got his second goal of the night in the last minute of period three, with an assist from Dylan Turrentine. It was a decisive 5-0 victory for the Devils. Congratulations to all Swimmers and Divers on their victories over Oak Park-River Forest on all three levels last Friday! A special shout out goes to all the seniors who competed in the HC pool for the last time as they celebrated their Senior Night.
