DEPARTMENT B (02) CATTLE Martha Hayward (518 335 4208) Superintendent Brian Wilson (Orwell VT) - Judge Entry fee 10% of First Premium. See Ag & Markets rules governing livestock exhibits. 1. Entries will close at 5:00 PM on Tuesday for all exhibitors living in Essex County. For all other exhibitors entries will close at 5:00 PM on Wednesday. 2. All exhibitors of purebred livestock must present registration certificates to the ring steward before entering the showring. 3. Birth dates shall be reckoned from March 1 and August 31. 4. All animals must comply with Animal Health Requirements of the Department of Ag & Markets. 5. All cattle will be judged Friday starting at 9:30 AM. 6. All animals must remain on the Fairgrounds until 7:00 PM on Sunday. 7. Each Dairy Farm will be given up to 4 Worker Passes at the Fair Office 8. The Fair will pay $20 per head to each exhibitor registered in the Friday Open Cattle Show. 9. ALL CATTLE MUST HAVE A CURRENT RABIES VACCINATION. 10. ALL CATTLE MUST BE TEST NEGATIVE FOR BOVINE VIRAL DIARRHEA Non-Registered Cattle Non-registered cattle will show in the same class as registered with the registered cattle receiving the higher premium. There will be no non-registered bulls allowed in the show. Anyone may show non-registered animals. Premiums will be $8.00 for 1st, $6.00 for 2nd, $4.00 for 3rd, and $2.00 for 4th place. Class numbers will be the same as the registered cattle with a G added. Special Class The Fair is sponsoring the Steve Sayward Family class in honor of Steve's years of service to the Fair to encourage young children to show cattle. This is open to children 8 years old and under not showing in 4-H who have not previously won the trophy. They may show any breed of cattle. The premiums are $10, $8, $6, and $4. Junior Showmanship Two age classes not showing in the Steve Sayward class. The winner from each class will then show against each other and the champion will receive a Director's chair, sponsored by Hayward Family Maple Syrup. You may enter at anytime before the show by signing up in the Open Cattle Barn. 1

Costume Class To be held on Saturday at 4:00 PM in the showring. You may enter at anytime before the show by signing up in the Open Cattle Barn. Yoke of Oxen The Fair will have a class for oxen again this year. Class 200 will be one year and under and Class 201 will be over one year. Premiums will be the same as the non-registered cattle except there will be double entry fees and double premiums for pairs. Supreme Champion Female The Grand Champion female of each breed competes for a Director's Chair sponsored by Glen- Mar Dairy.
