MESSAGE FROM THE STUDENT AFFAIRS COMMMITTEE Charles-Darwin Annan, PhD, P.Eng., M.CSCE Chair, CSCE Student Affairs Committee One of CSCE s three Strategic Direction is Growing with the Youth. e Student Affairs Committee has, in the past few years, supported this strategic initiative by developing new programs and benefits to support students and help stimulate early professional consciousness. We have recorded some significant success, thanks to the hard work and cooperation of our Student Chapters, the contribution of our Faculty and Practitioner Advisors, and the support of CSCE Local Sections. Now, more than ever, our students feel a real sense of belonging to the CSCE. In the past year, we have succeeded in providing FREE CSCE student membership to all our student members. We continue to improve the process for our online student membership registration, and we will welcome your feedback and suggestions. We also sent out CSCE SWAG packages (stickers, pens, rulers, highlighters) to individual Student Chapters to help kick off the 2016/2017 school year. We encourage you to update us with your current mailing address and contact information so that your Chapter would not miss out. Student competitions are a great way for students to challenge themselves and apply their knowledge to projects outside the classroom. We are proud to continue to provide support to the various student competitions around the country to provide opportunities to suit different interests and ambitions. Consult the Student Affairs website for more info. And get involved in your CSCE Student Chapter today and let s work together to make CSCE student membership a rewarding experience. 1
