Please contact any board member to apply. Message From The Chapter President Our February 7 th Lady in Red dance was a big hit with many new faces attending. It s always a delight to see newcomers join in the fun. New to us, and for the first time as DJ s, we featured Greg and Rachel playing the music. They took on all the positions for the evening acting as DJ s, Dance Instructors and treated us to a spectacular showcase performing the American/Argentine Tango. One of the best we ve seen. We had many compliments on the music which kept many dancing to the end of the evening. Greg Nelson and Rachel Palmieri perform an American/Argentine Tango showcase Greg and Rachel taught a Rumba lesson with some interesting walk-walk steps. Now we need to practice what we ve learned. That s always an important part of learning something new repetition. Unfortunately, many of you missed a great dance due to illnesses. There seems to be so many dealing with colds, the flu, etc. however, it is best to stay home when you are not feeling well rather than sharing it with others. Another announcement as a reminder to those who would like to join our Ocala Chapter USA Dance organization at the annual Dance Spree Weekend held in Daytona Florida on Friday & Saturday April 28 th & 29th. We would like to be well represented for the evening event where each chapter carries their chapter banner. President's Message continued on page 2 USA Dance Ocala Schedule Tuesday, March 7 th Music by: Gail and Alan (The Keichers, Jr.) Lesson by Ed and Louise Hanlon Tuesday, March 21 st Music by: Greg Nelson and Rachel Palmeri St. Patty's Day theme Lesson by Ed and Louise Hanlon Location: Armenian American Hall, 8831 SE 58th Avenue (Baseline Rd), Ocala, FL Members: $8.00; Non-Members: $10.00. President's Message continued from page 1 For the past two years we ve had good representation from our chapter and we would like to continue with an even larger group. The price of $149 includes Friday night Lesson & Dinner Dance Team Matches, Exhibitions, Jack & Jill contest, and 14 workshops all day Saturday with Lunch and Semi-Formal Dinner Dance Saturday night. It s held at the Gold Star Ballroom with a beautiful 4200 sq. ft. floating floor. See one of us if you are interested. The popular brother/sister band Starburst once again treated us to some great music at our February 21 st dance. Greg and Rachel continued to expand on their first Rumba lesson from the last dance. Dorothy Hefferon has resigned from the board due to other commitments. She has been doing so much to set up all the Hors d'oeuvres at each dance as well as cleaning up at the end of the evening. We thank her for all her hard work and commitment to the chapter. She will be missed but we hope she comes back to visit and dance with us. As a result of the lack of participation and volunteers needed to continue these free Goodies. We are asking you to bring your own snacks for yourselves, your table or as a snack for everyone to share and be sure to pick up your dish when leaving. Please push in chairs and clear your table and place trash in the can near the kitchen. This will help save time in the clean up process at the end of the night. We re happy to announce that we will be starting the beginner dance lessons on March 7 th. See the flyer below for more details. Come on out and get started. Until next time keep on dancin.
