SJVA Daily Bulletin February 3, 2017 School Wide Announcements According to our school policy, all and any cell phone use is prohibited between 7:15am and 3:15pm for students in enrichment and 7:15am-2:30pm for students not in enrichment. Any phone used on campus between the times mentioned, will be confiscated and taken up to the front office for an after school parent pick up. In addition, students will have to serve a lunch detention the following day. The band is still selling Country Meats during and after school for $1. These are a great way to provide yourself with a protein packed snack before practice or a game, or to hold you over until dinner. Come to room 30 to get yours today! Craving something sweet, salty, or spicy? Need some refreshments? Come by room 47 during High School lunch or after school to purchase snacks and drinks. Your purchases will help students reach their spring break destination: New York and D.C.!!
Elementary Announcements 5 th Grade Science Fair! Thursday, March 2 nd! 5:00pm-6:00pm Middle School Announcements Missing Assignment Policy Starting 2/7, students that have four or more missing assignments as of Tuesday of each week will be provided with additional time and support during lunch to complete the missing assignments. During this time students will be able to use the restroom, eat their lunch, and complete their missing assignments. Students are welcome to stay after school in the enrichment rooms (33, 36, 37) to complete missing assignments if they so choose. Campus Cleanliness Please make sure you throw away all your food and trash during lunch, passing period, and on the ramps by the classrooms. If trash and food is being left behind, restrictions will be placed on lunch and passing period policies, detentions will be issued, and Houses will lose points. Dress Code Outerwear (Jackets, Coats, Hoodies, Sweatshirts, and Scarves) (G/B) Must be solid color in maroon, white, black, navy blue, tan, brown, or gray with no name brand logos, emblems, writing, or pictures. Suit coats can be worn if they are solid color in maroon, white, black, navy blue, tan, brown, or gray. No print or stripes. Heavy winter coats do not need to be solid in color and may not be worn inside the classroom. Solid or printed scarves may be worn appropriately tied around the neck with no inappropriate language or images. Head Coverings (G/B) SJVA or solid colored plain visors, beanies, fedoras and caps without logos, embellishments, writing, or pictures are allowed on campus for the purposes of sun protection. No other head coverings are permitted, including scarves, hairnets, athletic sweatbands, beanies, and bandanas. Hats or beanies of any kind may not be worn inside any classroom or SJVA building.
Middle School Yearbook Cover Contest Don t miss this opportunity to add your artistic touch to the 2016-2017 cover of the Middle School Yearbook. All drawings can be entered and submitted to Mrs. Lozano in Rm. 31 until Feb. 17 th. ******Requirements for all entries ****** School Name, -School Year,-School Mascot, -If drawing is in color, please make colors bright and drawing needs to be no bigger than 8 ½ x 11 (standard size of paper) High School Announcements Help NY/DC students reach their spring break destination! Come by room 47 every Tuesday during lunch to purchase delicious pizza slices for $1.50 each. High School Students: Just a reminder TODAY is the last day to purchase Class T-Shirts, as well as Senior Sweatshirts. Late purchases will not be accepted after 4pm that day. Please turn in to Ms. Meza in Room 25. As a reminder, Independent Study, when completed and returned to the office, counts towards attendance. Independent Study DOES NOT replace the work missed during classroom instruction. Students have the same number of days they were absent to complete the work they missed in class. Independent Study is linked to instruction goals, standards, and/or review.
SJVA Sports The cheer team will have their team and individual pictures taken on campus this week! When: Today! February 3, 2017 @ 3:30pm **Picture packets can be picked up from the Athletic Director s office or from your coach. Please have the packets filled out by your parents before your pictures are taken and bring them on the day your team photos. Go Wolves! ** High School Track & Field Sport Physical: If you plan on participating in Track and Field, all Physicals must be turned in to Coach Goret before the first day of tryouts. You cannot participate without a physical! Tryouts: Wednesday, February 1st- Friday, February 3rd from 3p.m. to 5p.m. Please meet in the weight room. ***Need to be at everyday of tryouts. If you are currently in a different sport, please talk to Coach Goret. Mandatory meeting for anyone considering trying out for baseball on Monday February 13 th at 2:30pm in room 42! (If soccer or basketball has a playoff game that day, you must see Mr. Ilardi at some point during the week!) Baseball try-outs will be held February 20 th, 21 st and 22 nd (President s week) from 10am-12pm. No player will be eligible to tryout without a completed players packet and valid physical. We will have you come out when your sports finish. Mandatory Parent meeting: Monday, February 27th -Meet in RM 39-5 p.m. to 6 p.m. -Need to attend if you would like to participate in softball.
