ANZAC day is not merely a date, or some remote campaign, but rather a spirit. It is a time to reflect on the qualities of past generations of Australians who in hardship displayed courage, discipline, self-sacrifice, self-reliance, resourcefulness and friendship. What an inspiration for us today! We can learn a lot from the examples of the past as we live out our Cornerstones of Respect for Self, Others and The World. Do I have: the courage to stand up for what I believe in? The discipline to be the best person I can be? How do I show others I am a good friend? As we enjoy the extra day off work and school on Monday, let us take time to reflect on those values and how we live them everyday. Mr Shane Tobin will commence his Principalship at St Mary s on Monday 9th May. There will be an opportunity for parents to meet him at a morning tea on Tuesday 10th May at 9am in the hall. He will officially be commissioned at mass on Sunday 15th May. All parents are invited to welcome him to our parish community. Congratulations to Yellow house on winning St Mary s House Cross Country event last Friday. The sun shone for a wonderful day of running and cheering. That is now two in a row for Yellow house. Will they do the clean sweep and win swimming in Term 4 as well?? I hope everyone has a great week. Sharon Daujat SAVE THE DATE - Annual School Social August Saturday 6th. 1.

After School Care Extend OSHC at St Mary s Primary School Weekly Recap Last week was another fun-filled and exciting week in OSHC. This week we were busy putting our cooking skills to the test! On Tuesday we welcomed back the AFL Football season by making football biscuits with Annie, our assistant team member. On Wednesday the children and I (Lenore) made mini jam tarts which the children then got to take home and bake in the oven. Thursday was our most successful day yet, as we explored the world of science by creating fireworks in a jar. The children loved watching the food dye colours mix within the oil and water. Please remember that Monday 25 th April is a student free day due to the ANZAC Day Public Holiday. There will be no Extend Before & After School Care running on this day. I look forward to seeing you again next week. Lenore, Team Leader.
