Starting for the Fish on Adeiny Hechavarria s 26 th birthday is RHP Dan Haren (0-0, 1.50), who got a no-decision in Miami s 10-9 win April 10 vs. Tampa Bay despite leaving with an 8-1 lead after six innings. The Braves counter with lefty Eric Stults (0-0, 5.40) who is 2-3, 5.29 career vs. the Marlins. The Marlins went 1-5 on the season-opening homestand, dropping three to the Braves and taking one of three from the Rays. On this trip, the Marlins will visit NL East foes Atlanta (1-1), the Mets (April 16-19) and Philadelphia (April 21-23). VS. BRAVES The Marlins, 1-1 in this series, dropped all three games of their season-opening series to Atlanta and has come away victorious in just five of the last 13 meetings, including last night s win. The Fish are 67-115 all-time in Atlanta, and trail the overall series, 151-212. Last year, the Marlins went 5-5 in Atlanta, but Miami has not had a winning season in Atlanta since 2009 (6-3). UP NEXT The Marlins travel to New York for a four-game series at Citi Field vs. the Mets, starting tomorrow. Miami was 8-11 vs. the Mets last season, 3-6 at Citi Field. The Marlins are 172-185 all-time vs. the Mets, 24-30 at Citi Field. The last time the Marlins had a winning record at Citi Field was 2011 (5-4). The Fish were 58-67 all-time at Shea Stadium. LAST NIGHT The Marlins won their second game of the season, 8-2, in Atlanta. Tom Koehler (1-1) allowed two runs in 5.1 innings for his first career win vs. Atlanta. Miami took a 3-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI-single by Giancarlo Stanton (3x3, 4 RBI), a sac-fly by Martin Prado (1x4, RBI) and an RBI-double by Michael Morse (2x4, RBI) and never looked back. The Marlins scored in five of the nine innings, with their 1-3 hitters each scoring two runs. JACKIE ROBINSON DAY Jackie Robinson Day began in 2004 to honor the day Jackie Robinson made his ML debut. The Marlins are 7-4 alltime on Jackie Robinson Day, including winning last year, 11-2, vs. Washington. Miami had a five-game win streak on Jackie Robinson Day from 2008-12, before losing in 2013. The Fish are 2-1 vs. Atlanta on Jackie Robinson Day, 1-1 in Atlanta, winning in Miami in 2008 & in Atlanta in 2009, but losing here in 2007. DEE-LIGHTFUL Dee Gordon has reached safely in seven of eight games this season, reaching base at a.389 clip. Gordon has accounted for 11 of the Marlins 28 runs, scoring seven and driving in another four. Gordon s 12 hits and.364 batting average are second-best among NL leadoff hitters and his.389 OBP is third. DEE-FEAT PARKINSON S The month of April is national Parkinson s Awareness Month, and Dee Gordon is encouraging fans to pledge support to The Blechman Foundation for every stolen base he records in April. The Blechman Foundation for Parkinson s Research is based in Miami. Gordon currently has four stolen bases. For additional information and to pledge support, fans can visit: http://blechmanfoundation.org/dee-feat-pd/ RETURN OF PRADO Martin Prado, 1x4 last night, owns an eight-game hitting streak at Turner Field. He has hit safely in all eight games at Turner as a visitor, since being traded by Atlanta prior to the 2013 season. As a visitor at Turner Field, Prado is hitting.333 (10x30). For his career, Prado owns a.309 (395x1277) mark at Turner Field, with 25 home runs and 156 RBI. GETTING THEM INTO POSITION On the season, Miami is hitting.262 (17x65) with runners in scoring position, fifth-best in the NL, including a.267 (8x30) mark with runners in scoring position and two outs, third-best in the NL. However, the Fish are hitting just.222 (32x144) with the bases empty, ninth in the NL. LEADING ROLE Giancarlo Stanton is one home run away from becoming the Marlins all-time home run leader. Stanton is currently tied with Dan Uggla for most in franchise history, with 154 home runs. With his next home run, Stanton would join Evan Longoria (TB) and Ryan Zimmerman (WSH) as the only active players to be their organization s all-time home run leader. 4G Giancarlo Stanton drove in four runs last night, his first four-rbi game since August 17 vs. Arizona last season. Stanton has 16 career games with four-or-more RBI, including three five-rbi games. The 16 four-rbi games are tied for fourth-most in the Majors since 2010, tied with David Ortiz, Curtis Granderson and Robinson Cano. The only players with more four-rbi games over that span are Nelson Cruz (19), Jose Bautista (18), Adrian Gonzalez (17) and Adam Dunn (17). AROUND THE HORN MARLINS VS.
