Classes All dancers are expected to attend their regularly scheduled classes, rehearsals, showcase performances, competitions, and parades. Any team member with poor attendance risks being prohibited from participating in any upcoming competition and may also be released for the competition team. Anyone who misses any technique class for any reason MUST make up the class. Dress Code: Ballet solid black leotard, skin toned tights, ballet shoes and hair in a bun OR Elite Uniform, with ballet shoes and hair in a bun. Jazz black leotard, booty shorts, tights and jazz shoes OR Elite Uniform and jazz shoes Acro black leotard, booty shorts, tights and barefeet, hair in a bun OR Elite Uniform, hair in a bun and barefeet Rehearsals: Rehearsals are an important part of the commitment to the Competition Team. All dancers are expected to work hard and arrive early. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled at the discretion of the teacher/choreographer. In these instances, you will be notified within 7 calendar days of additional rehearsals. All members must attend rehearsals in the proper dance attire and appropriate dance shoes. Parade routines will be learned during rehearsal time on Saturdays. Company members are expected to participate in parades.
Solos/Duets/Trios Please contact the instructor that you are interested in working with to schedule your rehearsal. It s the responsibility of the parent to login to their ActivityHero account and pay by the indicated date on their invoice. Any payment received after the deadline is subject to 10% of your balance late fee. If we don't receive payment in a timely manner, your child will either no longer be able to attend class, will not receive any costumes/poms, or will not be permitted to perform. - Base Rates (not including solos, duets, trios, privates) o Single Child - $110/monthly o Siblings - $200/monthly Expenses: Competitions fees are due 60 days prior to the event, costume fees are due by October 31.

IMPORTANT!: Please block off ALL dates until we know the final schedule. Usually the schedule is posted one to two weeks prior to the competition weekend. Entry fees are due 60 days prior to each event. Routines: - Peanuts (Ages 6-8) o Our goal is to have Peanuts perform two group routines at every competition, a hip-hop routine and a jazz routine. - Juniors (Ages 9-11) & Teens (12+) o Our goal is to have Juniors & Teens perform three group routines at every competition, a hip-hop routine, lyrical routine and a jazz routine. o - Solos/Duets/Trios o If you are interested in having a solo, duet or trio please contact the teacher you d like to work with to schedule private lessons. Solos, duets and trios are an excellent way to get individualized feedback from the judges at competition. Private lessons are $50/hour and can be split between dancers. Note: Dancers are not allowed to use choreography for any performances or competitions outside of POM Squad events, without permission from the Director. Pricing per Routine - If you refer to the previous page (Schedule Competitions) you will see the price per routine. For example:
o Starquest Fee is $48 per girl, per routine. For two routines, you d be paying $96 + the POM Admin fee. Costumes for Routines: - Costume fees are due October 31. Costumes start around $39 per routine. In some instances, the costume might be a 2 in 1 costume, meaning that it can be used for two different dance genres. We will make every effort to keep costs low in regards to costumes. Costumes Continued: Costumes will need to be purchased for each routine your daughter is competing in and they are yours to keep. - Always have a second pair of tights available. - Always have the company selected earrings or other accessories for your competition attire. - Finger nails and toenails should be clear polish only. No French Tips. - Make-up should look natural. Always use false eyelashes! - Always have dance tights that are your complexion. - Place costumes in a garment bag for travel - If your costume has a hat, place it in a hatbox to prevent damage - Hang and press costumes before each performance. Be sure to look at the label before ironing and/or washing. - Place your name in all costumes, accessories and shoes - Image: As a member of POM Squad (girls and parents), you will be a representation of the organization and our philosophy. Please keep the following in mind: - Never speak negatively about teachers, dancers or parents of our school or other schools.
- No foul language. We will not tolerate any swearing or rude behavior - Never mistreat your parents, coaches or your teammates at events or competitions. - Never bring down your teammates with your negative thinking. Always try to have a positive disposition, even when things or the competition appear tough. Fundraisers: As a member of the team, you are expected to participate in ALL fundraisers. The money raised is to help lower your costs/fees for participation in competitions and for costumes. Fall fundraisers include: - Fundraising Catalog Now until September 27 th - Parade After Party at Gusto on November 18 th - Positive Girls Rock Winter Showcase on December 16 th Once fundraisers are complete, a detailed report will be given to parents and we will decide as a group how the funds will be allocated. I encourage you all to also think of other fundraising opportunities throughout the year. Positive Girls Rock December 16 th This showcase will be held at Blair High School. This will be one of the first opportunities for the girls to practice their competition routines on a stage. - Each dancer must sell at least 5 tickets to participate. - We will need a volunteer committee with help planning for this event.
PFA!! POM Family Association Please contact Michelle Early for more details. The first meeting will be held on October 14 th and meetings will be held every second Saturday thereafter.
