Move Out Loud Dance Company The Move Out Loud Dance Company has become well-known for our creativity, intensity, style and entertainment. We have won numerous awards for entertainment, choreography, performance and high scores. Being a part of the Move Out Loud Dance Company requires a strong commitment, dedication, passion for dance, and a drive for self-improvement. Winning is not our goal. More important is growing as artists, athletes and teammates; to inspire and be inspired; to experience the pride and confidence that come with perseverance and hard work and to have fun doing what we love! The 2017-2018 Company will be comprised of a number of small and large groups competing in hip hop, jazz, tap, lyrical and contemporary in intermediate or advanced levels. The selection and casting of competition pieces is at the discretion of the Artistic Director. All members must re-audition each year for placement. We try very hard to find a spot for all dancers who audition for hip hop team, whether in the company or the crew. However, jazz/ lyrical/contemporary spots are much harder to come by. We have a checklist of skills that we expect dancers to be able to demonstrate. If a dancer cannot demonstrate these skills, we will ask them to continue their training at the studio and audition again once they have advanced their technique. Summer 2017 Summer Classes & Auditions We are so excited for another tremendous year with our dance team! This will be our 8th year of competition, and we are so proud of the incredible achievements our team has made! Our dancers continue to grow artistically, technically and in number and as such, our team structure is ever evolving. Please read this handout carefully and attend the MOL Dance Team informational meeting on Sunday, April 30th at 4pm to make sure you have all of the details for the upcoming season :) Auditions will again take place over the course of 8 weeks of class this summer. Summer classes will start on June 26 and end with final auditions on August 25. This offers us an opportunity to see how our dancers pick up choreography, their work ethic, how honestly they are working on things at home, how they get along with other dancers, how they respect their teachers and which kids gel together. We can then make the best possible decisions for our team. Registration will begin on April 15. Please register before May 15 so we can plan accordingly. Families are responsible for registering for summer team classes. Please email Anna at team@moveoutloud.com to find out which classes your child needs. Audition Requirements All dancers must audition for placement and must have one FULL YEAR of class at Move Out Loud in the style competing or have special permission from the Artistic Director. The Audition Dancers will be asked to dance the summer routines in groups. Assessment will be based on technique, knowledge of choreography, performance quality, and overall work ethic and attitude. Results will be emailed the following week. Placement Selection for MOL Company Teams will be based on: Work ethic, effort level and attitude Demonstration of excellence in technique Demonstration of stage presence and performance Knowledge and execution of the audition choreography Positive family support and attitude Summer Attendance Policy & Class Requirements All dancers are REQUIRED to come to at least 6 weeks worth of practices to be eligible to audition. If a dancer must miss more than 2 of a required class, classes must be made up prior to August 26. Make up classes must be pre-arranged.
