Prior to correct weight Dean Holland, rider of Sandhurst Delight (fourth placegetter) lodged an objection against Wazamba being declared the winner and Gunn Island being declared third placegetter alleging interference in the home straight. On the evidence it was established that near the 200m Sandhurst Delight, when obtaining a clear un to the outside of Wazamba, had to be checked to avoid that fillys heels, then approaching the 150m Sandhurst Delight then laid in away from Gunn Island and in behind Wazamba. Sandhurst Delight was then held up and unable to obtain clear running over the concluding stages. Under all the circumstance Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the interference suffered near the 200m warranted amending the placings and therefore both objections were dismissed. Jordan Childs, rider of Sognani (second placegetter), lodged an objection against Wazamba being declared the winner alleging interference in the home straight. On the evidence it was established that after passing the 200m, after obtaining a clear run to the inside of Wazamba which, after initially shifting out shifted in tightening the running of Sognani in onto Beach Fighter. Stewards were of the opinion that had this incident not occurred that Sognani would have finished in front of Wazamba and therefore the objection was upheld and the placings amended as follows: Sognani - first placegetter, Wazamba - second placegetter, Gunn Island - third placegetter and Sandhurst Delight - fourth placegetter. Hydro Force - began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped with Wazamba. Raced wide without cover. Beach Fighter - near the 150m was tightened for racing room by Sognani, which had been carried in by Wazamba. Tahlia Hope was severely reprimanded for failing to ride her mount out to the winning post. Andrew Mallyon (Wazamba) - pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that near the 200m he permitted his mount to shift out whilst riding it along, when insufficiently clear of Sandhurst Delight which had to be checked and shift out to avoid the heels of Wazamba. Andrew Mallyon had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight February 22 nd and to expire at midnight February 2 nd, a total of eight race meetings (three metropolitan, five provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and good record and that the carelessness was in the low range. Race 7 - ClassicBet Class 1 Handicap - 1600 metres: Musee Des Arts - reared and dislodged rider Lachlan King in the mounting yard and cantered riderless in the stabling area before being captured; underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and was subsequently a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 4.34pm and the start of the race was delayed by six minutes. Trainer Mr Barry Fox was advised the gelding must gain further approval in a jump out prior to racing again. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: win bets - 6 cents, place bets (for winner) - 6 cents, place bets (for 2 nd ) - 8 cents and place bets (for 3 rd ) - 8 cents. Hung out rounding the home turn and in the home straight. Big Pats Pontiac - bumped heavily at the start. Flash Boy - began awkwardly bumping with Hero Master. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post race veterinary examination. Flash Boy must be subject to examination by a veterinarian with specialist qualifications in equine internal medicine, prior to starting in any race or trial. The examination should include echocardiography, electrocardiography at rest and at exercise and any other examination that the examining veterinarian requests. Prior to starting in any race, and pending Stewards receiving a satisfactory veterinary report from the specialist examination, such horses must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards in an organised trial of at least 1000m and have a satisfactory veterinary report that includes the results of cardiac auscultation within thirty minutes of completion of the trial. Hero Master - bumped at the start. Ruary Mac - began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover. Ocean Grove - near the 1200m raced in restricted room when tight inside of Vellastar. Precision Timing - near the 200m when racing tight between Big Pats Pontiac and Flash Boy, shifted out over Flash Boys heels. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Daniel Moor (Flash Boy) - pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that near the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of Kifaah resulting in Kifaah being checked to avoid the heels of Flash Boy. Daniel Moor had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight February 23 rd and to expire at midnight March 2 nd, a total of nine race meetings (three metropolitan, six provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and good record, the racing manners of Kifaah and that the carelessness was in the midrange.
