SOUTH UMPQUA ROD AND GUN CLUB A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. 845 Rod and Gun Club Rd, Riddle, OR 97469 Mailing Address: P.O. Box 639,Canyonville, OR 97417 Range Status Phone: (541)357-7874 Website: www.surgc.org Newsletter for March 2016 NEXT GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING IS SUNDAY March 13th, 2016 AT 2:00P.M. It is with deep regret that I have submitted my resignation as Club Secretary, Effective on March 12th, 2016. The home we are renting is being sold, and we have been looking since mid-november for another house. Needless to say, rentals are few and nice homes are rare. In accordance with our Daughters wishes we have decided to return to the Salinas-Monterey area of California. We will miss all our friends and Club Members that made this a pleasure. The Work Party Day on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 was a success, with only 17 members working our of 375 members. They all worked hard and had another great lunch provided by the Club, and prepared by Chris & Cynthia Noll. A big Thank you to both Ken Canon & Tom Meier for bringing their tractors, and to Bruce Harlow for operating Tom s tractor. Many of the holes in the driveway were filled, and the area in front of the Storage Building was graded. The lights and the first cabinets were installed in the Storage Workshop, and the cabinets were emptied within the Clubhouse and ready to move into the Workshop. We had 4 members learn about the Pistol Retrieval System, so they will be able to make repairs as necessary. was to buy carry The winner of the Sig Pistol is Janice Solso, pictured here with the winning Pistol. Her winning ticket was drawn on Sunday, February 21st at 2 pm, at The Sportsman Show, under the watchful eye of Dennis Blanchard. This was a very successful Raffle for the Club, and shows that people are willing to buy tickets for an outstanding Pistol, such as the Sig 9mm Concealed Carry Pistol and the Sig 1911 45 Caliber Pistol, that was raffled previously. 22nd Annual Friends of NRA Dinner/Raffle is being held on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 at 4:30PM at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Individual Ticket is $65, while Couples Package is $110. If interested, we can reserve tables for South Umpqua Rod & Gun Club. (Please see page 5 for details on sending in your check to attend this event).

We will order some of these targets and place them in the Clubhouse for sale, so you can see your improvement. Have fun shooting at our Pistol Range, and watch what happens.
