State Fair 2006 Preliminary Schedule Milking Parlor, Moo, Oink and Baa Booths and Agrilympics Loads of fun, excitement, special contests and interesting guests at the Minnesota State Fair Milking Parlor, Moo, Oink and Baa Booths. Also, the opportunity to visit with MDA princesses, board members, producers and staffers Friday, August 25, 2006 1) The 12th Annual Celebrity Milking Contest, (part of the State Fair s 7th Annual Agrilympic Events),co-sponsored by Minnesota Farmer s Union 3) Contest begins at 2:30 p.m. 4) Friday, August 25, 2006 5) Celebrities vie for the title of "Expert Cowhand" by hand milking a cow. The celebrity with the most milk wins!!! The public is encouraged to watch and cheer on their favorite celebrities. Includes amateur (have not milked a cow) and professional (have milked a cow) divisions. Sunday, September 3, 2006 1) The 10th Annual Great Minnesota Moo-Off (Contest) co-sponsored by Udderly Smooth Udder Cream 3) Contest begins at 2:30 p.m. (sign up for contest between 2-2:30 p.m.) 4) Sunday, September 3, 2006 5) Contest open to the general public. All ages, three categories (0-9 years of age, 10-15 years of age and 16 and above). Prizes for the best Moo, all participants receive a token for competing Every day the Moo Booth and Milking Parlor feature regular demonstrations and activities throughout the day. Every Day Moo Booth 1) Moo Booth (Dairy and Cattle Educational Booth) Weekdays** 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Weekends** **Exceptions: closes at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 27 and Labor Day, Sept.4, 2 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2006) 4) August 24 through September 4, 2006 5) Numerous activities and events to participate in including: Hand milking twice a day at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. outside in the Moo Demonstration area (outside northwest corner of cattle barn). Spin the Moo-lette Wheel, take our Dairy and Cattle Quizzes to see if you are an Expert Cowhand, get a Cow Tattoo, participate in Moo Booth CSI (Cow Seen Investigation), find out how big a cow s stomach is and how

much she eats, pet a calf and more! Milking Parlor Demonstrations 1) Milking Demonstrations see the latest in dairy technology in action! 2) Outside the northwest end of the cattle barn (Moo Demonstration Area) 3) 10 a.m., 12 noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. (no 6 p.m. show on Labor Day) 4) August 24 through September 4, 2006 5) Narrated demonstrations of dairy cows being milked find out how cows are milked, how cows produce milk and many other fun facts about cows and the dairy industry. During our demonstration milkings we will also hold a new Mini-Butter Carving Contest (during 10 a.m. milking) and the Moo-Scotch contest (at 4:10 p.m.) we also sometimes feature special guests, such as Princess Kay of the Milky Way, and product promotions at other times ******Every Day the following special activities will occur New AMPI Make it Better With Butter Carving Contest, with audience participation, will be held every day during the 10 a.m. milking demonstration in our Moo Demonstration Area. Prizes for participants and winners. 4-6 audience participants will be selected to participate in this mini contest every day. New Moo Scotch Contest with audience participation will be held every day at 4:10 p.m. (following the 4 p.m. milking demonstration) in our Moo Demonstration Area. Prizes for participants and winners. Every Day at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. the Moo Booth and Milking Parlor offer hand milking for fair visitors to participate in, (Fair visitors can actually try milking a cow!!) outside the Northwest end of the Cattle Barn in our Moo Demonstration Area. (This is very popular, please include in promotional materials wherever possible) Over several days week ends and Labor Day Moo Walk MooTalk contest, following demonstration milkings on weekends and Labor Day at 10:20 a.m. (Saturday and Sunday, August 26 & 27 and September 2, 3 & 4th). Contest open to the general public following our milking demonstrations, in our Moo Demonstration Area. Great prizes for the winners. 3) Contest begins at 10:20 following the 10 a.m. demonstration milkings. 4) August 26, 27, Sept. 2,3, & 4. 5) All ages, several prizes in this moo-sical hooves competition..

Talk to the Animals Show Friday, August 25, Saturday, August 26, Sunday, August 27 Friday, September 1, Saturday, September 2 and Sunday, September 3 Talk to the Animals Show featuring our very own State Fair Dr. Doolittles letting you giving you the inside scoop on a variety of animals featured at each Show. Prizes will be awarded for audience participation during the show 3) Show begins at 12:15 p.m. following the 12 noon demonstration milkings. 4) August 26, 27, 28, Sept. 2, 3 & 4. 5) Show for all ages, prizes for audience participation. Following the show the audience may meet the animals and their Dr. Doolittle.

Baa Booth Special Event Wednesday, August 30, 2006 1) Wool Pack-O-Rama (Wool Packing Contest for the General Public with a Celebrity Division - part of the State Fair s 6th Annual Agrilympic Events) 2) Sheep Barn in front of the Baa Booth (south side of the sheep barn) 3) Contest begins at 1 p.m. Sign-up for general public contest will be held from 12:30-1p.m. 4) Wednesday, August 30, 2006 5) Wool packing contest open to the general public, with a celebrity division. All ages, four categories ages 0-9, 10-15, 16 and over and celebrity. Prizes for the wool packers Every day, during the first 8 days, of the fair the Baa Booth features regular demonstrations and activities throughout the day. Daily Schedule Baa Booth 1) Baa Booth (Sheep Industry Educational Booth) co-sponsored by the MN Lamb & Wool Producers 2) Inside the south end of the sheep barn. Weekdays** 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Weekends** (**exceptions: closes at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 27 and 2 p.m.thursday, August 31, 2006 ) Note: the Baa Booth will only be available the first 8 days of the fair. 4) August 24 August 31, 2006 5) Daily Demonstrations. A sheep will also be available for fair visitors to lead and to try their hand at shearing a sheep. Sheep shearing available 1-1:30 p.m. Daily.

Oink Booth Daily Events Oink Booth 1) Oink Booth (Pork Industry Educational Booth) sponsored by the Minnesota Pork Board. 2) Inside the east end of the swine barn. Weekdays** 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Weekends** 4) August 24 through September 4, 2006(**exceptions: closes at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 27, and Labor Day Sept. 4 and 2 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2006) 5) The famous Pig Ears pig ear headbands, pork trivia and temporary tattoos will all be available along with the following daily event. Pig Tales talk at 11 a.m. each day in the sow and litter pen (next to the Oink Booth, Oink Trivia Contest with Prizes follows the talk each day.
