CRRS NEWSLETTER Issue # REFEREES MATCH DAY GUIDELINES 1 Arrive at the ground 1 hour before kickoff. 2 Ensure that personal pre-match warm up exercises are completed. 3 Agree with captains for a time for pre-match briefing and coin toss. 4 Wear CRRS clothing before, after and during the game. 5 After the game Team card is signed and returned to club officials 6 Attend the Clubhouse for a social drink/food after the game 7 If unable to stay please tell the club captain or club official. Dear Colleague Safety at Sports Grounds Following on from the letters concerning the Sports Advisory Group please note that the Club Development Committee is hoping to organise further NVQ Level 2 courses in Spectator Safety with Integer Training at no cost to the individual or Club. Accordingly I am seeking names/contact details of members of your Club willing to undertake the Course and become accredited. For information the Course is two days spent in the classroom plus tree practical assessment events where the candidates will be required to work as a voluntary steward. Whilst it is accepted that some Clubs will not have spectator numbers demanding qualified Stewards nonetheless other events in the local community may require such stewards and the Club s ability to provide practical support would undoubtedly be beneficial. The CRFU would hope that the trained Stewards would volunteer for County matches and other events such as the Finals of the County Cups. Replies - names and contact details please - to be sent to Richard Simeons by 25 October 2017 Many thanks. Kind Regards Richard Saints supporters at the Mennaye with added Rotherham player photobomb! CRRS NEWSLETTER Issue # 6 The Rugby Football Union and Premiership Rugby have confirmed that World Rugby has approved an optional period of up to three minutes to be added to the HIA process for the remainder of this season in the Aviva Premiership and Greene King IPA Championship. In operation from this week s round of matches, the additional time will be available for the collection of in-game saliva samples. This means the HIA period can run from a minimum of 10 minutes to a maximum of 13 minutes. Sing while you ref! U18 Mens National Knock Out Cup - a new national cup competition was approved which will take place intermittently over weekends during the season, with the final being played in mid-may. Please note that the new competition regulations request that wherever possible societies provide a team of three for these matches, with the semis and final being appointed by the RFU. Clearly, this has ramifications for us, given the pressures on referee availability and coverage in what are the busiest days of the week for match officiating. I raised this issue (along with a number of technical points) at Council and my concern were duly noted. I voted in favour of the new competition given the importance of this age group to the future health of the game - the resolution was passed almost unanimously.
